Summary
Angel returns home from a particularly brutal day with Valentino, once again the object of his abuse. When he comes back to the hotel limping and in pain, he heads straight to his room, avoiding Husk. But of course, Husk isn't going to ignore what he saw. He follows Angel to his room to comfort him. Watching a movie evolves into something more, and both men realize that they had been harboring feelings for the other.

Summary
They laugh together, fully belly laughs, none of that fake shit, and it’s so, so good. There’s no expectation tied to either of their words- Angel’s never felt this free, not since the day he met Val. Every time he’s in Husk’s room with him, it’s like the rest of the world fades away. There’s no imposing shoot, no call to arms, nothing demanding their attention; it’s just them, Husker and Anthony. It feels nice- to be safe. To be known. To be home.
He rolls over, and his head dips into the crook of Husk’s shoulder. The other just lets him, no questions asked. “Maybe I’m here for the free drinks,” Angel murmurs, which earns a laugh. “What! Maybe it’s testament to your phenomenal bartending, did’ya ever think about that?”
Husk’s chuckle is deep, and Angel can feel it rumbling through his body as they lay skin to skin. “We both know I’m a shitty barkeep,” Husk says, moving a hand to card through Angel’s hair. A small smile spreads across his face. “Alastor would hire someone else, but then he’d have to let me off leash. Yeah, I’ll be mixing shitty vodka martinis til the day I die- again.”

“You can’t go. I….I need you here.” A whispered confession echoed through the room as Angel turned to slip out the door once again.
“You can’t be serious. All I’ve ever done is fuck over anyone who’s stupid enough to give a shit about me. It’s best for everyone that I just go back to where I belong.” Angel didn’t know if he believed it or not but he knew that’s what he needed to tell himself to slip out the door. It had taken everything in him to say no the first time, and it had broken him. He hadn’t been cognizant since.His last ounce of resolve crumbled when a single tear trickled down Husk’s face as he approached Angel slowly.

Summary
When Charlie came along, overflowing with her dreams and her kindness, begging him to give her hotel a chance, Angel agreed, sure. But only because he liked the idea that when he ended up vomiting all over the carpet, maybe he wasn’t always going to have to be the one to clean it up. He’d never meant for it to go this far, to one night be sitting at a tacky bar showing Husk the fifteenth picture of Nuggets in a row, and realize, with a jolt of surprise so strong he almost jumped, that the warm pressure he was feeling in his chest was happiness. Angel couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt happy. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt anything at all.
But Angel should’ve known better. He’s been wasted enough times to know that the higher you get, the better it all feels, the worse everything hurts when you finally sober up.
Sometimes, if you're careful and good and lucky, you manage to leap out of the way of the speeding train just in time.

Keith was really good at keeping his emotions under wraps.
He hardly ever showed a thing on his face. Once, Lance had made a (hilarious, he might add) joke, and while the entire room was cackling, Keith barely reacted, just giving a small smirk of amusement. Even when he’d failed his midterm, he barely looked upset– he’d just sighed, closed his laptop, and asked Lance if he was ready for dinner. Lance never knew what he was truly thinking, with his steely gaze and blank stares and relaxed posture.
Yes, Lance never knew what he was truly thinking, until Keith got some alcohol in his system.
