Bob only realises that he’s blurted it out loud when there’s a surprised pause. It’s strange, but he swears that he can almost hear Johns thoughts spilling out as he tries to figure out what’s the right thing to say next.

Does forgetting something means it never happened? It sort of feels like it, but Owens said that the memories are meant to come back, right? Whether he wants them to or not, they’ll start to trickle in until he’s drowning in them. He doesn’t want to remember, of course he doesn’t, but doesn’t he deserve to know what he’s been through as if he’s actually been through it? Even worse, what does it mean if his memories don’t come back? He’s just too weak to handle them, too fragile to know what to do with himself. How long until he forgets everything else?
