There’s a loud creak -my bedroom door being pushed open- and the soft sound of socks padding against the carpet.
Slowly, the duvet is peeled away from my face. I want to grab it back, seize it stubbornly and wrench it over me again, but I don’t have any energy left to do so. Hatred is exhausting, sometimes.
It’s Evie. Of course it is - who else would it be? My family may have fallen apart and faded, one by one, but the childhood promise still rings true; best friends are forever.

Summary
Where it’s Max and Mike who both begrudgingly work at scoops ahoy together, and end up having a deep conversation with each other on the floor of the mall bathroom.
He clears his throat, before letting out a self-deprecating laugh. “I guess you’re going to say that I sound pretty stupid about this, right?”
“Nope.” Max says, popping the ‘p’, “I’d say that it sounds like you want him to be in a relationship with you, instead.”
“But Will is a boy.” Mike states, a strange expression crossing his face.
“Mike.”
It takes a moment or so for the realisation to really hit him. Except it isn’t a realisation at all, not really, because he already knows. He’s tried to figure out his feelings before now, she can tell.

They’re both lying on James’ bed, listening to the rain outside that’s still falling heavily against the roof tiles. James has his arms wrapped around Sirius, but it’s mainly because he’s worried about his friend being too cold and catching a chill as a result. There isn’t much more that they can do to prevent that, seeing as the duvet is already pulled up to their shoulders and Sirius has a hot water bottle tucked under his arm, but James can’t really help worrying.
James and Sirius accidentally end up in a queerplatonic relationship!
