Summary
The year is 1183, the month is Great Tree Moon and the former Prime Minister, Ludwig von Aegir, has finally made his move. After forming an alliance with Those Who Slither in the Dark he has seized Fort Merceus.
However, for an alpha like the deposed Duke Aegir it is not enough to simply overthrow Emperor Edelgard, to achieve total victory he must reclaim his omega son. Who is, Duke Aegir’s disgust and disappointment, currently serving as a General in her Majesty’s army. And so those who slither in the dark dishonourably snatch the General Aegir off the battlefield.
Duke Aegir is not aware to what extent these actions will provoke Hubert von Vestra, Imperial Spymaster and a fellow alpha. Amidst the concern of the strike force, Ferdinand attempts to survive, and Hubert desperately fights against his alpha instincts to cling to sanity.

Summary
It is 1192, 6 months out from the 6 year anniversary of victory at Fhirdiad and the unification of Fodlan, and 10 months after the elimination of those who slither in the dark. Despite this state of stability, every evening the Minister of the Imperial Household and Prime Minister work until the early hours of the morning.
When Edelgard, concerned for their wellbeing, interferes, she sets off a chain of events that she did not intend, nor could she have predicted. Orders are disobeyed, tensions rise, and relationships shift and stretch to breaking point.

What he would give for a glimpse into what happened in that bedroom. For a look into the routine that happened behind closed doors. He’d mulled over the idea of placing a small, hidden camera somewhere in there for weeks. Turned over every possibility in his mind, and had even gotten so far as adding some cameras that he thought would do the trick to his online shopping cart, but had never clicked purchased. The fear of leaving a trace of himself behind, where he could be discovered and have this all taken away, was too great. So, he would have to be satisfied with this view.
At least for now. Because tonight would be different.
