Jayce was going to die. Right here, in this lab, from sheer secondhand embarrassment and utter confusion.
Sky thought they were together. She wasn’t the only one. And instead of correcting her, Viktor had— what, silently agreed?
A single kiss was one thing. Dating was quite another.
“I, uh,” Jayce started, but he had no idea where he was going with it. “Thanks?”
The rise at the end of his tone made it sound like a question. Though, truly, what the hell else was he supposed to say? No, Sky, don’t feel bad, you’re not silly, because actually, we’re not together, despite the fact that apparently the entire city thinks otherwise? That wouldn’t make things awkward at all.
Sky beamed, clearly relieved. “Oh, good! I was worried for a second there. But really, I think it’s great. You two just… fit, you know?”
Jayce did not, in fact, know.
OR: Viktor kisses Jayce instead of telling Sky he isn't interested like a normal person. Cue the gossip mill, and Jayce and Viktor pretend to be in a relationship until it dies down.

An omega in Piltover should be slight, demure, sweet, and deferential. An alpha should be strong, determined, outgoing, and commanding. Jayce was never the definition of an omega, always too big, always too loud, and too obsessed with bringing magic to the world. Viktor was determined, but due to his crippled body, no one saw him for the alpha he was. Maybe they were misplaced, but working together, none of that mattered.

“Viktor. You weigh about eighty pounds soaking wet.”
He startles. He’d genuinely forgotten that he might be an option. His face immediately heats. “I...uh...”
“Great idea,” Mel croons.
Viktor is going to absolutely murder Vi. Maybe everyone at this table, and then himself.
Drunk at a party, Jayce demonstrates the Electric Chair Drop on Viktor. Which really doesn't help Viktor's whole in-love-with-his-best-friend thing.

“I don’t know how people can do that.” Jayce hadn’t meant to say it out loud, but now he had to answer Victor's curious, raised eyebrow. Clearing his throat, he clarified, “Sell themselves.”
Following his line of sight, Viktor noticed the brothel and laughed. “It is work, Jayce. Just like anything else.”
“I guess. But isn’t it kind of… violating?”
“Eh, not particularly.” Viktor shrugged. “No more than any other physical labor.”
A nervous laugh bubbled out of Jayce. “You sound like you’re talking from experience.”
Viktor halted, and Jayce had to curve his body to avoid crashing into him. Turning, Viktor gave him a long, indecipherable look and said, ”Perhaps I am. Would that matter to you?”

He couldn’t say it. Couldn’t speak of what the Grey was doing to his lungs, creeping through him since childhood. Another day, maybe. After his back healed.
"Then I’ll get a nurse’s license or something," Jayce chuckled weakly, gloom softening just a little as his hands finally rested on Viktor's shoulders. "I’ll be here for you, V. Always."
After a long moment battling his own restraint, Viktor finally spoke, his voice small, uncertain. “Wrap your arms around me.”
"Your back–" Jayce hesitated.
"Please."
OR Jayce takes care of Viktor after his back surgery and they face their feelings for each other! ♥

It’s from an unknown number. Viktor raises his eyebrow, wondering which place in town this stranger found his number. It’s been a few months since someone new has reached out, not that that’s an issue. Viktor has a roster of regulars and typically meets at least one a week but, as the semester’s come to a close, he hasn’t scheduled any recently. The idea of something new intrigues him, and he has been wound a bit tight.. He drafts out his reply, then waits a few minutes to respond. He doesn’t want to give the impression that he’s at this person's beckoned call. He still has to finish this chapter anyway.
