Bruce ran his finger along the brim of Paddington’s little red hat, the felt of the brim catching against his calloused skin. Bruce pulled the teddy bear up to his nose, breathing in the undeniable scent of Jason, squeezing his eyes shut against the onslaught of tears.
He moved the teddy bear back down to his lap, smoothing out his blue winter coat.
“I miss him” Bruce whispered.
Paddington didn’t respond, he just kept staring at Bruce with those black, plastic eyes.
The boxes moved to the attic. Paddington moved to Bruce’s bed.
