Junichiro learned his name for the first time on the day that news dropped. They were standing amongst the shards of broken glass when they were first faced with the story, eyes impossibly wide as they stared at the faces they knew so well, now placed under the label of terrorists.
His name is Nakajima Atsushi, but Junichiro wishes he didn’t know that at all. Partly because he didn’t get to find out for himself - he didn’t manage to get his act together and finally approach him, as he always dreamed of doing during those long shifts. Mainly, though, he doesn’t want to because he sees how much he’s changed because of the events at the end of the world, and it hurts, even for an outsider like him to witness.Or: the sort-of canon divergence, sort-of coffee shop AU that no one asked for, but everyone (read: the author) needs.
