It's the 'most wonderful time of the year', but for James, it feels like the world is ending. His boyfriend is in France, dealing with the aftermath of a death in the family and, despite the fact that his friends are the literal best, Regulus' absence hangs over him like a shadow.
But it's still Christmas. What else can he do but pull himself together and make sure he doesn't ruin the holiday for everyone else? Besides, if he lets himself wallow over what he doesn't have, the only thing he'll achieve is diminishing the joy of what's his.

Will burst into one of the most blinding, dazzling smiles Mike had ever seen. It wouldn't matter if they were on the darkest, cloudiest night in the middle of the ocean; Will was a beacon of light. Mike couldn't tell if there were actual stars in his eyes or if it was just a reflection, but it didn't matter. “I did,” he murmured. He was quiet for a moment, like he was waiting for Regulus to say more, but he didn’t. He pulled back slightly. “Is… is that it?”
“I didn’t like it,” Regulus said like it was a warning.
“Oh?”
Regulus narrowed his eyes. “You did it on purpose,” he said, and it came out far more as an accusation than he intended, that same hot feeling from earlier surfacing again in his chest.
James didn’t answer, just breathed a laugh and sucked at the skin under Regulus’ ear. Regulus tensed his jaw a little, and with his free hand, he snaked his fingers up into James’ hair and pulled his head back a bit so they were looking at each other in the eyes. James’ ears were red and his eyes were half-lidded, almost dazed. He blinked at Regulus slowly.

“Do go on.” Sirius prompts, raising his eyebrows. “I’m listening.”

Summary
There are roots growing in Draco Malfoy’s chest. Twisted, spindly, spiky things that tear across his lungs as though they are made of dirt and clay.
They first bloomed just beneath his sternum in the summer before sixth year. Little more than a seed, the roots weren’t particularly painful at first. Just big enough to create a tight ball of pressure below his heart.
He wasn’t aware, at this point, of the nature of the pain in his chest. Perhaps he assumed it was anxiety. Stress. Fear. Terror. He was in the clutches of the Dark Lord, after all. Draco had plenty of reasons to experience pain in his chest.
So, when he began to wheeze while climbing the moving staircases, he simply believed himself to be out of shape.
When crimson splattered against his palm with every other cough, he just muttered a hushed cleansing charm.
And when he began to look as ill as he felt, it was just because he wasn’t eating well. Wasn’t taking care of himself.
He was more focused on that damned cabinet- on the threat to his family’s lives- than something as trivial as chest pain.
So Draco persisted. And the roots grew into flowers.

Urban Dictionary’s Gay Chicken definition: A game played with straight people to see who has more balls, metaphorically. the game is played in several ways. The most simple, and weakest, is the kiss. One 'player' moves in for a sensual kiss until one of the 'players' backs off. I've seen this lead to tongues but someone will always pull away. Another way gay chicken is played is by groping the other 'players' genitals or breasts or anything you can get your hands on. The most common form of the game is gay pillow talk in which each interaction escalates until someone laughs or just can't respond. Lastly, 'players' can initiate dry humping sessions. Hardcore 'players' will use a combination of three tactics to win the game. Some have been known to even use all four tactics at once. This plan of attack is very tricky.
