Summary
There was no life altering event causing a lapse of faith; just a slow and steady distance from Dema’s empty grace as if his bones were rejecting the idea that Clancy was someone worthy of having something to believe in. That he was somebody who deserved to hold faith in a structure that would absolve him of whatever he does wrong, over and over and over and over. And by the time he had been smeared for his third time, he knows he’s past the point of no return.
Ultimately, he thinks that’s why the Bandito rebellion doesn’t work much for him, either. There’s too much overlap between a torch and a vial; each holding a person on the other side that’s trying to offer a solace that you don’t want or deserve.

Summary
He’s not an idiot. He knew what he felt at twenty-two, and he knew at twenty-eight. He knows at thirty-six. Josh used to shake with it when he was younger; the intensity of the feeling. It was the only thing he had—pressed together in the back of a van trying to keep warm, playing shows, creating; all of those were Tyler. It all went back to him over and over again. Being in love with Tyler was crucial.
They both settled over the years; what was burning between them not necessarily dimming down, but evolving. It matured with age as they got older and found themselves building families. There will always be a part of Josh that’s twenty-three and in love with Tyler. Looking at him now still feels like looking at the sun.

Summary
Eddie loads the metaphorical gun, cocks it. “I would’ve found my way to you. That I'm even more sure of.”
Buck is burning. That’s the only way he can describe this. Eddie says something like that, and then Buck will end the call, and he’ll crawl into Eddie’s bed in Eddie’s house and stare at the patches in Eddie’s bedroom wall that he helped Eddie patch up, and he’ll pretend like this isn’t going to kill him. He’s entirely convinced he’s going to die before Eddie ever crosses the California state line again.
He digs his own grave. “You sound confident for a guy who doesn’t believe in fate.”
“Nah, it’s not fate. It’s us and pure determination.”

Summary
Alex doesn’t know if it's his tone, or something in the air, or the fact Alex is calling him when he’s just right up stairs, but he can tell Henry feels something is wrong immediately.
“Alex, what's wrong?”
He cringes, whether at himself or the pain, he’s not sure. “Okay, so don’t get mad.”
“Alex–”
“I need you to come outside.”
He can literally hear Henry’s blood pressure rise. “Why?”
“Okay, so like, I broke my arm.”
“What?!”

Summary
Tyler looks up at him then, it’s cold out here, but their proximity to the fire has sweat dripping down Josh’s face. His beanie is off, and his curls are now so long they’re curling above his eyes. Years ago, if Josh’s hair was this length, Tyler would've done something like brush it out of his face. Even with the mix of emotions he’s feeling right now, he fights the urge.
“I’m not sorry for what I did to get you here. I mean– okay, I am sorry for that, because I know it hurt you, or it’s hurting you right now. But it was necessary. But what I am sorry for is not protecting you like I should've.”

Summary
He doesn’t have a problem with sex. It’s just sometimes things head that way with a bird and then he has to do it because it’s gone on too long, or sometimes he doesn’t feel well—that strangely nauseous feeling limping up his throat—but he has to do it anyway because the other boys are doing it—because it won’t make sense for Paul not to, because it won’t look right.
And sometimes after it’s fine, and he’s glad he made himself. And sometimes after he doesn’t feel fine. Sometimes after he lies in bed and he can’t stop shaking and he doesn’t know why. Sometimes he sits in the bottom of the shower until the cold chases the ache away.
Or: The long awaited sequel to 'You Never Give Me Your Money.'

Summary
Something ticked in Paul’s mind as the familiar words washed through him. When he looked at John, his friend was already looking at him. And suddenly, it all became clear: He remembered having that conversation more than 50 years ago. He remembered it too well.
He had been thinking about it for years, wondering what he should have understood, how he should have reacted. If it was as meaningful as it had felt or if his memory had just romanticized it.
“I don’t think a love like that obeys to any rules,” John went on, unaware of Paul’s agitation. “It’s not something that humans have created, not like a societal thing. It’s deeper than that, and that’s what some people are afraid of I guess, because they can’t control it. Whatever laws they create, they can never control it. A white lad will fall in love with a black girl.” He paused. “A lad with another lad. You know.”

Summary
Forgive me Lord, for I have partaken,
Not in the bread of life, but in the flesh of creation.
I am weak, and the temptation calls to me again.Save me Lord, for in this communion,
I part the impure from immaculate bone,
and watch blood drip like you intended.I am hungry, and through the satisfaction,
I am made one with divinity. In your image,
I will create anew.or: Frank is a chronically ill college drop out who desperately wants his life back, no matter the cost.

Summary
There’s no rush or urgency in the way that Gerard places his palm against Frank’s chest and pushes him away. There’s nothing angry, or violent about the action. It’s not a shove, and there’s no enraged screaming. It is simply what it is. A push. A light pressure to Frank’s sternum that forces him to take a single step back.
“We can’t get better together.”
