Jayce and Viktor sacrificed their lives to save everyone in Piltover, but instead of dying they are granted a second chance and sent to an alternate timeline where the hexgates aren't built. Jayce wakes up first and struggles with the aftermath of the choices he has made leading him to this point, but when Viktor joins him he thinks his dreams of a new life with Viktor are finally here but things don't go the way he had imagined they would, but one thing he knows for sure, he loves Viktor even if Viktor doesn't love himself, and he was going to make sure he knew it.

Unbidden, an image of Jayce whining his name rose out of his unconsciousness like a malevolently attractive Freudian devil. Somewhere on campus, Heimerdinger had to be laughing maniacally. “Yes,” he said, trying very hard not to think of Jayce’s panting body mere minutes ago. “Stress relief. That’s a healthy outlet.”

Thanks to a required class, Piltover Academy seniors Viktor and Jayce are forced to partner up on a semester-long project-- the Distinguished Innovator's Competition. Old grudges between them reignite buried attraction into something more complicated than quantum physics.
