Kojiro can’t help but feel pure fear run through his veins as he hears Carla’s voice echo through his walls. Her robotic voice felt so soulless, not the same voice he had hear Kaoru made and use on a daily basis. He never hated Carla but this.. was not Carla.
Just as he was about to turn around and go back to bed and see if this was all a dream, the feeling of a hand touching his shoulder made him let out a small squeal, only to turn around and see a very sleepy Kaoru staring at him with his brows furrowed.
AKA. Kojiro doesn’t like the idea of Carla being more than her very few forms and his mind takes this and runs with it.

He remembered standing in front of a mirror in his parent’s house, one of those larger bathrooms that everyone in the house shared. Tears streamed from his eyes as his younger version brought a pair of kitchen scissor up to his hair. The haircut was awfully, it was jagged and looked as if he did it blind, but it was his first step into feeling like himself. An event that he almost forgot about in his day to day life.

“Shh,” Joe said, not knowing if that would actually affect her volume or not. He hoped so. “Could you…when Kaoru wakes up, could you tell him something for me?”
“Yes.”
“Then tell him, ‘I think you’re beautiful.’”
“Time to wake up, Master. This is your fifth alarm.”
Cherry squinched his face irritably and heaved an annoyed sigh. “I’m up, Carla, I’m up.”
“Good morning, Master. I think you’re beautiful.”
A bit stunned and more than a little confused, Cherry decided that it was just too damn early and he’d heard wrong. “Sorry, Carla—could you repeat that?”

It’s 2:47 AM. Kaoru’s already been asleep for a couple of hours. Like, dead asleep. So, when he suddenly inhales a loud breath, bolts upright, and starts muttering incoherently, Kojiro actually startles awake.
“Hey, what’s up, what’s wrong-” Kojiro slurs out, rubbing his eyes as he sits up to check on his husband.
Kaoru looks at him, or at least he tries. One eye is shut tight, the other is squinted, just barely open. Clearly, he’s still half asleep.
