Kaede’s blood chills. Words leave her, and her heart falls silent.
Monokuma blinks. “Huh?” He along with the Monokubs, Kaede, and her classmates, all turn to the voice.
“Sh-Shuichi...?!” whispers Kaede. “What are you—"
“It was me,” Shuichi says again, shifting on the spot. “I did it. I uh... I killed Rantaro...”
The library is silent for a few moments.
Then all hell breaks loose.
Shuichi claims the First Blood Perk in Kaede's place, and in doing so, changes the entire course of the Killing Game. Different choices are made, new dynamics form, and, as per the rules, only two survivors can emerge from the world stained red with reality, and pink with delusion.

“J- De-” Mac stumbles over the discarded names, and Dennis wishes he would settle on the latter. But instead, he steps forward, moving his hand to Dennis’ elbows, running his thumbs over Dennis’ shaking arms. “It’s you? I'm not really following.”
“Why don’t you want to kiss me? Dennis? Why is it him?” He is yelling. He is loud. He will bring a reckoning down on this apartment, leave it and both of them inside crumbling down and away. “Why do you only want me when I’m not me?” He is crying, but he won’t be. He’ll run the bath, drown Mac. He’ll burn the apartment down. He is in control, and always was, always will be. “Why Johnny and not Dennis?”

Dennis hadn’t even meant to catfish Mac, is the thing.
And it’s no fault of Dennis’ that Mac assumed the new number texting him, the way Dennis had always texted him, was a stranger flirting with him rather than Dennis being Dennis. And it’s barely any fault of Dennis’ that he went along with it, that he’s spent the past two weeks as Mac’s text-only boyfriend (Mac had decided on this title three days in, and it’s only good practice of Nurturing Dependence to gain exclusivity so early, so Dennis hadn’t contested it). Mac is an idiot, and Dennis is merely following this experiment to its logical conclusion.

“I’m sorry,” Mac repeats, picking at his cuticles for something to do with his hands. “I don’t know how to live with this.”
He doesn’t get very far before Charlie is pulling him into another, tighter hug. He buries his face in Mac’s neck and inhales deeply, which Mac would think was odd if not for the fact that Charlie, who he really never gives enough credit for sticking around for as long as he has, just grappled with the fact that he avoided walking in on Mac killing himself.
“I love you,” Charlie whispers, and a cracked sob makes its way out of Mac’s chest. “I’m gonna fix this.”
Mac swallows, squeezes Charlie tighter. “What do you mean fix this? Fix this how?”
But Charlie doesn’t elaborate. He just pulls Mac closer to him and repeats, “I’m gonna fix this.”
