Summary
In a Gotham with no heroes and no villains, there are only people trying to make the best of the cards they've drawn. Tim Drake wakes into the lives of Crime Alley-natives Jason Todd and Stephanie Brown, and finds it impossible to walk out again.
This series will have at minimum four works in it: Preludes (an origin fic that explains major differences in the universe and explores everyone's traumatic backstories), Trillium (the main work in which our characters meet and their relationship develops), an as-yet-unnamed supplemental for explicit scenes that would otherwise be in the main fic (which will probably absorb Candy Cane), When Dick Met Stephanie (a timeline-jumping fic about Dick and Steph's developing relationship), and an unnamed Dick/Jay/Tim/Steph fic.

Rose’s fingers froze against her glass. She studied Shane’s face. Watching the furrow between his brows, the way his jaw tensed like he was bracing for impact. He genuinely didn’t know. The realization hit her then. “Shane,” she said slowly, “you seriously don’t see it?”

Jason’s magic surges as he bares his teeth. He towers over Tim, big and imposing. Green pushes up against Tim’s shields, searching for weakness. “I don’t need a familiar,” Jason hisses.
Tim stares him down coldly. His heart races in his chest, but Jason doesn’t need to know that. Jason needs to see that he will not be walked over, that Tim is his mother’s son and has plenty of teeth of his own.
“Liar.”

“But you don’t get any say in when that happens. Or how it happens. Or anything about it, really. You’re going to take whatever Tim and I decide to give you. You can keep saying please, if you want, and crying, and squirming, and whining like a little brat, but it’s not going to change anything that we decide to do to you.”
Dick pauses. “How does that sound?”
