Untamable due to the roaming 'things' that prowl. Ranging from simple giant beasts to things that defy reality. It isn't safe for a human to be out in the wilderness, but that's where you are. That's where you work. You were assigned to be a hunter from childhood, which means you go out beyond the walls to brave death's jaws to try gather intel, or for a better paycheck, slay a monster. No one expects you to reach old age, and no one's waiting for you to come home, because the monsters are waiting for you.
