Viktor’s plan to get himself banned from those ridiculously pompous galas went as follows:
-Wear the most revealing, most scandalous outfit he could.
-Wear the most makeup he could apply to himself without messing up.
-Be as rude and sarcastic as he could possibly be to everyone.
This plan was sure to get him banned from galas forever, Viktor was convinced of it. And sure, maybe he also felt at least a tiny bit bad for making Jayce clean up his mess afterwards, but he had insisted Viktor go to this gala, so if anything, he was partly to blame for this. He should have known Viktor would only agree to go under his own conditions.
Or: How Viktor's foolproof plan to stop getting invited to fancy parties totally backfires on him and turns him into Piltover's most elegible bachelor. And how he ends up dragging Jayce into it.

In hindsight, Jayce should have known his rut was coming.
Most alphas exhibited signs leading up to a rut that would be easy enough to sate in a few hours. Unless an alpha was near a potential mate or omega, in which case the rut would last longer, even more so if they were responding to an omega in heat who wanted them in their nest.
The only omega Jayce personally knows and hangs around often is his partner, Viktor. And he wasn’t interested in him in that way…
…Right?
Jayce panted in the dark of his bedroom, fisting his cock rapidly, underneath his red blue blanket, inhaling the lingering sweetmilk-lavender scent of Viktor combined with his own, as he remembered the events leading back to what happened, before his rut began.

Summary
The Annual Hunt of Piltover was a barbaric practice; the prospect of hunting for one’s mate like they were nothing more than game animals was utterly baffling and antiquated, at least in Viktor's humble opinion. It may be custom to the City of Progress, a valued tradition, but one a Beta from Zaun like Viktor had no care for. At least, until an invitation in scarlet ink appears in his letterbox, cordially summoning him to participate in this year’s Hunt, as invited by none other than Jayce Talis.
Viktor struggled to keep his head afloat as he held the envelope with its stately wax seal and its display of dignity and excess, but his thoughts kept circling and colliding to one singular thing:
This had to be a mistake.

“You’re not gonna believe this,” Ekko says, slightly out of breath. “So I’m hustling Talis down at the forge, right? And I’m giving him the works.”
He ticks off ‘the works’ on his fingers as he elaborates, “I complimented his work, I name dropped Councilor Medarda, I went on and on about how much her investment really means to us, since you know their families are like this,” he crosses two fingers together tightly.
An effective visual, surely, had Viktor actually been looking.
“Then, I mentioned our project scaling up and he hooked it up for free.”
That, finally, gets Viktor’s full attention. He spins around on his stool, flipping his goggles onto his forehead. The heavy thud of Ekko’s haul is enough to imply just how big of a ‘hook up’ this was.

“I am right here, you know,” Viktor said bitterly, not taking kindly to how they spoke of him like he was Jayce’s pet. He doesn’t understand what they mean that Jayce has “claimed” him, but he isn’t appreciating the way they’re meaning it.
“The people of Zaun aren’t of immediate danger to us anyway,” Mel spoke now, and though Viktor has never really gotten along with her, he’s grateful for her usage of the proper title of Zaun. “And you should all place respect on Viktor’s name, despite his part of House Talis regardless.”
“Thank you,” Viktor said, not quite understanding again what this talk of being a Talis, but he chooses to focus on Mel openly defending him. “And as Jayce previously mentioned, Hextech is not to be weaponised.”
