Summary

After Buffy’s rising, and subsequently being revived twice by medical professionals after Warren attempted to end her life, three more slayers are called, the blonde falling in the role of teacher. Except… are the Scoobies sure it’s only three? And why isn’t Giles answering their calls? And what the HELL is going on with Spike?

Over a year after Glory’s demise, a new big bad looms its ugly head, except it brings with it new challenges NONE of the Scoobies ever expected to face. Not only are Buffy’s slayer dreams haunting her, but her ex is working for an evil law firm, something’s killing potential slayers, and a girl who SHOULD have died in 1868 is very much alive. And in Sunnydale. (Follows Your Timing Needs Work of the Time In A Bottle Series. Read that first if you’re lost.)
Some scenes follow BtVS Seasons 5-7 and Angel the series season 5 plot points, but it’s looser than you’d expect. Dawn's in 10th Grade in this, as I made her 16. If you're a fan of Angel as a character, you're not gonna like this fic.

Summary
Spike tries to take Buffy out in their ‘is this a date’ episode but instead of lashing out, she just goes to the nearest crate and has a breakdown cuz this is the WORST year of her life. Spike vows to make it better for her as best he can and for once, he kinda delivers. Even when the rest of Sunnydale goes off and makes things way, way worse for them all.
Takes place during the second half of season 5, with dates to make following along w the actual cannon a little easier. Buffy breaks down because if anyone were in her shoes w the year she’s had, they probably would too. Slayer or not, that shit SUCKED. Joyce is a badass and doesn’t die, a giant cockroach demon tries to abduct the Slayer, Spike plays nurse (not in a sexy way), and there’s a road trip from a hell beast. What more could a story have? A happy ending? Yeah, sure, but who wants to go demon bowling? I know Buffy does.

Buffy was being set up, there was no other reason for why she was dropped into this dangerous mission with a faulty weapon. She may have several spiral fractures and an eye so swollen she can’t see, but she’s not that easy to get rid of. Especially not after Spike was the one to find her and drive her to the ER before her fractured rib popped her lung like a helium balloon. But… now what? Her ‘perfectly normal’ boyfriend was neither perfectly normal nor answering her calls, a monster scarier than anything Mary Shelley could have slapped together, and the guy who saved her who used to be her once archnemesis was being really, REALLY nice to her all of a sudden. What’s a girl to do?

... It's a duck.
There's just a tiny bit of magic floating around after Willow ends the Will be Done spell, and it turns the resident captive vampire into a duckling. And he's so adorably angry about it. Question is now... who's going to take care of duckling!Spike? Oh, it's Buffy, of course.
But Spike being a duck doesn't mean everything else goes away. He's got a new perspective, and over time, so does Buffy. Changes to Season 4 grow as time goes on.
I'm sure someone's written something like this before, but I got the idea and here we are. The plot also started to happen, and now I can't stop it.

AtS S5. Things go a little off canon in Destiny and Buffy ends up with a whole lot more than she bargained for. Human? Demon? What makes Spike who he is and what’s a girl to do with the love of her life when he’s double the trouble?
This is what happens when Gort feeds one of Sunalso's plot bunnies after midnight. I wrote it, she beta'd it, and there might have been wine involved.
This is an entirely Spuffy fic, even though I had to slap that threesome tag on it. (Spike's Demon/Buffy/William) The only other warning is that I'm not very nice to Angel in this story.
