Summary
Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, London, has always tried to keep both feet on the ground. It’s a pity, then, that the universe has other plans, and upon making a rather ill-advised decision to read one troublesome book, Jon finds his life quite literally turned upside down. Now six feet overground and one strong breeze away from deep space exploration, he’ll have to reckon with the forces that rule his life—and, ultimately, decide whether they rule him at all.
But while Jon pontificates from on high, the inestimable Sasha James, Archival Assistant and unintended sleuth, is trying to discover what all this is about. Surrounded by suspicious strangers, mind-mangling manuscripts, and unexplained plumbing problems, she has plenty of places to start. She’ll find out who did this, even if it means uncovering a few cults along the way. Even if she feels a strange, growing kinship with the dark. Even if her friendship with Tim is deteriorating more by the day.

Summary
A childhood marred by the trauma of growing up orphaned and gay in rural West Virginia has had Clarice Starling running from her demons for fifteen years. Her efforts have landed her at the top of her class at the FBI Academy, and her first case has her investigating the elusive Buffalo Bill. She's sent to Baltimore to make use of Hannibal Lecter's expertise - as a psychiatrist and a psychopath - which kickstarts a chain of events that has her stumbling nearer and nearer to the past she's tried so desperately to escape. The actions of her boss, Jack Crawford, and her girlfriend, Ardelia Mapp, can only delay the inevitable.
Meanwhile, Hannibal has his own agenda. One he's been waiting a decade to fulfill.

Hannibal decides a little provocation is in order, but when his search for Alana Bloom yields some unexpected results, they find themselves with temporary custody of three-year-old Morgan Verger-Bloom. Will and Hannibal are forced to take their issues on the road — quite literally — as Will tries to save the Verger-Bloom family…and Hannibal tries to save Will.
