Summary
When pair skater Yuuri Katsuki’s career comes to a scandalous end, he does not expect the retired pair skating legend Viktor Nikiforov to suggest that they compete together. But taking on a new skating partner is full of trial and error, and the skating world doesn’t know how to react when the Katsuki-Nikiforov duo, against all odds, starts doing well. The last thing either of them should do, as they strive for their last chance at greatness, is to fall in love. Yuuri knows he is damaged goods, and Viktor knows his body is starting to fail him. They have competitions to survive and medals to win. No, falling in love is out of the question; they’re just very good friends. And even if Viktor felt something, he’d never act on it, and even if Yuuri happened to be hopelessly in love, he’d be mortified if Viktor ever found out.
“Well,” Viktor said, “let’s summarise: I’m pushing thirty, have a bad ankle, and haven’t skated competitively in three years. You’re barely out of a doping scandal, coachless, and on the JSF’s blacklist. Hell, Yuuri – we might as well go for it, then. What on earth do we have to lose?”
When Viktor put it like that, it seemed to make an awful lot of sense.

Summary
The justification Yuri gives himself for ending up at Yu-Topia is that the onsen is practically part of his training regime. He goes into the kitchens first, entirely because it’s polite to greet Hiroko and not at all because he’s looking for Grandpa.
He finds possibly the last thing he expected to find in Hiroko’s kitchen. There’s Grandpa, which is predictable. He reaches out to ruffle Yuri’s hair, and Yuri pretends to hate it, also predictably. Grandpa has on one of Hiroko’s aprons, and is evidently in the middle of chopping up some kind of vegetable, which is still not the unexpected part. The unexpected part is that Viktor is also wearing an apron, and is peering into a metal bowl looking perplexed.

Yuuri hated looking at pictures of himself. His hair had started sticking up again. And he had that horrible star-struck smile on his face. Plus, he was blushing, and blushing always made him look so young.
“Aaaaaah.” Yuuri winced. “I look so…”
Victor winked at him. “Cute!”
Before Yuuri could protest, Victor dropped the photo into Instagram and started typing a caption.
My champion! I thought I lost my phone this morning, but look who returned it? Our very own…
Yuuri watched as Victor’s agile thumbs (so agile, and no, he was not going to think about what else Victor could do with them) stopped moving. That fan-struck part of him that had been screaming mentally in the back of his mind came to a slow halt.

Yuuri wakes up in Victor’s room the night after the Sochi Grand Prix Final banquet. Did they sleep together? No. Instead, last night, Drunk Yuuri taunted Victor that he hadn’t earned the right to get in his pants…and spelled out exactly what Victor would have to do to get there.
Now, Victor intends to do everything on that list…

“The conversation,” Victor says, “went something like this. You said I wasn’t getting in your pants that easily.”
Victor says this in a normal tone of voice. Anyone could hear him. Yuuri looks around, but if anyone is paying attention, they’re pretending not to.
“Naturally, I asked what I would have to do to get in your pants.”
“Ah.” Yuuri blushes. “How embarrassing. What do you mean, naturally? Why would you ask that?”
Victor tilts his head. “Because I want to get in your pants. I thought that much was obvious by now.”
