Yet the voice that answered him was quiet and solemn, only above a whisper, but it was tangible enough for the wind to carry it to Varka’s ears.
His surprise echoed in a curious “Oh?”, Varka turned around to face the newcomer.
The silver of moonlight could only caress the jade-pale cheeks of the young man before him, it couldn't touch the black layers of his clothes and robes that didn't expose even a small peek of skin. The slim lantern in his hand emitted purple flames instead of sunset-red, bathing his hair in a clashing palette of eerie purple, deep sea blue, and moon white. When Varka met his eyes, an empty twin of yellow pools greeted him back without any light of recognition.
When Army General Varka's interest was piqued by the so-called "blue ghost" of the cemetery, he kept finding himself returning to meet with the "ghost".

Anaxa bumped the rim of his teacup to Phainon’s own—a kiss between ceramic lips, as if a promise set with an intimate clink.
“When you believe you have become the best version of yourself, come and see me. Only then can I give you an also genuine answer.”
With Elder Anaxagoras now out of seclusion, Phainon wishes to fulfill the promise they made five years ago.

Summary
Anaxa looked like a statue sculpted by someone whose ideas exploded all over the place, struggling to be contained by Aedes Elysiae’s small bubble: his colours were vibrant and loud, but tranquil as the tree above him at the same time. His figure sat straight without the slightest bow, but slender enough to be overwhelmed by children’s laughter. Despite the bustling trees and wheats around him, he was blissful in his silence with his book.
Of course, young Phainon’s head didn't know such “big-worded” thoughts just yet. All he could think at that time was: Big Brother Anaxa looks so peaceful, should I disturb him…?
Simplified (?) summary: young samoyed Phainon met mint cat Anaxa when the latter had just moved to Aedes Elysiae.

Even though the voice carries over as sweetly as a whisper, it holds the fierce spirit of a lioness who never knew the existence of “bedtime” before.
And yet, Phainon still smiles at the little lump hidden halfway beneath the thousand-thread blanket. He settles himself on the edge of the large bed, calloused hand smoothening down those wild tufts of sunset-kissed hair splayed across the pillow.
“What is it, my little sunshine?” Phainon asks, his smile lending its own light to the dimly lit bed chamber.
“Can you tell me a bedtime story?” Twin pairs of round eyes, their irises the colour of winter’s frozen ocean, are unbelievably warm and expectant as they look up onto Phainon from the bed.
Tonight, the royal daughter of King Mydeimos and Queen Phainon asks for a bedtime story.

“Hands?” Phainon holds out his own, palms up, like one would do to receive a dog’s eager paws. Unfortunately, Mydei’s no dog, so he unceremoniously drops his hands on Phainon’s, their backs against his palms.
An awed "oh" escapes Phainon's lips at once.
They’re so warm.
To touch and know gentleness from hands that everyone knows are capable of destruction, Phainon is truly blessed by the sun; of Mydei's warm hands, of Mydei's warm gaze.
