“Oh my God, look who finally decided to pick up! I didn't know you were so busy,” Vincent drawled in a mocking tone as he continued, “You better have a good fucking excuse or you'll see what I'll do to you the next time I see you.”
And when there was no response, only silence, Vincent felt himself losing it.
“So you're gonna keep silent like some idiot?”
Again, no response.
He snorted, “Fine, suit yourself, then! It's not like you ever were anything other than an idiot, after all. Why am I even putting up with you is a fucking mystery in itself. I can't wait to find someone way smarter to replace you. I’ll do it in a fucking jiffy, I promise you this.”
More silence.
Vincent started thinking that maybe, just maybe something was wrong.
But before he could even slightly furrow his brows in concern, he heard a way too calm voice that in no way belonged to his assistant;
“What did you just say to me?”

“Wonder what his old man would say now, seeing his only son marry not only a literal demon, but a man nonetheless. Something told Vox he’d be more caught up on that second thing.
He’d probably get that same laughably pathetic expression he wore when Vox had finally killed him, grinning madly as he shot him right between those cold, heartless eyes. It was the best thing he’d ever done, partly because it was incredibly satisfying, but it also led him down the path that secured his spot down in hell, which somehow resulted in him ending up here, in a small venue in Cannibal Town and about to marry Alastor in just over half an hour.”
