“I– I’m sorry. I’ve been– I mean…” Izuku stumbled over his words, “I’ve been so worried about you Kacchan.”
Simultaneously, Katsuki had so much to say, and nothing to say at all. Comforting Izuku was a short-term solution to the adversity he had faced that day. It wasn’t going to change. It wasn’t going to get easier. Both Katsuki and Izuku knew that.
“Breathe, Izuku.”
They had to carry the guilt and the pain with them, for the rest of their lives.
All Katsuki could do was be there for Izuku at that moment. One small moment, out of hundreds that had passed and a thousand more moments that were yet to come.

Katsuki’s brain sputters like a broken boat engine.

AKA, Izuku had memory boxes that he made before the Final War that were meant to be given to his loved ones in the event that he died. Obviously, that never happened. Now Katsuki is helping him move, and while Izuku is running an errand, his partner finds his box.
Katsuki isn't good at feelings. But now, he kinda has to be.
