Lysandre de Lys is twenty-two: he is kind of vaguely royalty in a way Augustine does not understand and also does not care about in the slightest, getting his doctorate in computer science with a focus in software/hardware integrated engineering and video projection technology, and is the most beautiful man Augustine has ever met.

Pokémon professors, as far as Diantha was aware, had to be open to debates and discussions. Many of the breakthroughs of the last few decades, including those Augustine had contributed to, had come about after periods of skepticism, of long, drawn-out explanations regarding both results and circumstances. Scientific progress usually involved, after rigorous experimentations, some convincing. Demonstrations and whatnot.

The first time Kratos challenges him to a fight out in the world, Yuan is surprised. If someone sees, they risk word of Angels fighting making it into the population. The Church is young, and if they’re not careful they will fuck up the theology.
But Kratos has led him away from people, and the stars are bright, and if Yuan looks up at them too long he’ll get melancholy, thinking of stargazing with Martel before everything fell apart.
When the dust settles, and they lay in furrows they gouged in the dirt, Yuan laughs, wincing.
Kratos smiles.
Yuan asks why Kratos brought him out here, and Kratos answers, “You needed someone to get you out of your head.”
