    Summary

Rush and Ba'al debate outfit options.
    - - -
Rush pauses, running his fingers across the black lace cuffs of a particularly flattering long coat. "I’ve seen this one. I remember how it fits you."
    "Exceptional, wasn't it?"
"Yes, yes, I already know, you'd be exceptional in anything." Rush dryly moves on to the next hanger. "Another gold turtleneck?"

    Summary

Ba'al is bored. There's nothing better to do on Earth while he's waiting out another feud, and Wormhole X-treme's quality has declined recently. Besides, his favorite pastime is seeing what he can get away with.
    - - -
“So I suppose you’re part of the cast for the Gorgon Council? There’s six minor deity characters in the script. My suggestions for which ones to use were, of course, ignored.”
“Oh, yes,” says Ba’al with a smile, and decides to test the waters. “That brings back memories. Clearly, an off-brand misrepresentation of the Goa’uld Summit. On some level, I respect the blatant plagiarism.”
Nick stares at him blankly. “What sort of name is Gould?”
“Goa’uld,” says Ba’al, enunciating all three syllables.
Nick is unconvinced. “No audience is going to pronounce that correctly.”
“It gets better. There’s an apostrophe in it,” says Ba’al helpfully. “I’ll let you guess where.”

    Summary

When the Destiny leaders are offered the opportunity to swap into artificial copies of their real bodies on Earth, they can't possibly say no.
    They should have.
    - - -
Rush can feel that it’s not the same as his own tendons and muscles beneath the surface, but it’s a far less unnerving feeling than inhabiting a random human body that’s a substantial mismatch with his own. He can only wonder what mechanisms are powering this creation beneath its synthetic skin. He has half a mind to step into the nearest X-ray machine, but who knows what that would do to it? He’d rather not break… himself.

    Rush finally gets to top.
    - - -
Rush pulls himself into a sitting position, hands resting on Ba’al’s shoulders for stability. “I see you’re making no effort to get decent.”

“Decency is a lost cause for me,” says Ba’al. “Always has been.”

    Summary

Ba'al has a habit of not staying dead.

    - - -

Ba’al, also known as Aziru, coughs his lungs out until a slimy little eel-like thing flops out of his mouth and lands on the bed of gravel. Thinking quickly, Rush grabs hold of the symbiote formerly known as Athena, winds up, and flings it over the edge of the building with the speedy reflexes of a seasoned baseball pitcher. Seconds later, he hears a faint squishing sound, and then the frantic honking of a car horn.

“Oops,” Ba’al remarks, sitting up as though nothing had happened. “Quite a throwing arm you’ve got there. What were you actually aiming for?”

Rush raises his eyebrows. “‘Good job’ or ‘thank you’ would suffice.”

    Summary

An unexpected intrusion into Rush and Ba'al's new life on Earth leads to grim consequences.
    - - -
Rush fights to cope with the pressure of the all-consuming wave of grief, although there’s a sense of responsibility and duty to keep Ba’al safe within him. That alone makes it all worth it, the pain and perseverance. Someone has to do it. It might as well be him.

Maybe if he doesn’t go into the other room, it won’t be real yet.

    Summary

I don't even have a summary for this, it's just more Rush/Ba'al PWP.
    - - -
"You love to serve me, and then pretend that's not what you're doing. But you are, my dear. You are."

Ba'al grimaces with frustration, but it morphs into a wicked smirk soon enough. "We all have our indulgences. Mine," he says, "is you."

    Summary

After a rocky start, Ba'al and Apophis come to an understanding. Apophis has some observant (and unflattering) thoughts to share, and Ba'al discovers a history he hadn't expected.
    - - -
Ba’al grins broadly. “They see and hear beautiful things, and they think ‘others should know what this is like, too.’ Isn’t that amazing?”

“I don’t understand,” replies Apophis, quietly. He’s been unexpectedly offered a window into Ba’al’s bizarre perspective of curiosity bordering on obsession with human culture. Ba’al hides it well, recognizing it as a weakness in himself, but Apophis likes to be aware of others’ weaknesses. “Extraordinary, in a foolish way. It runs so contrary to the Goa’uld desire to seize beautiful things and keep them as our own.”

“It really does, doesn’t it?” comments Ba’al. “The instinct for generosity is a distinctly Tau’ri trait. Perhaps we might benefit from having more of it.”

“Too much indulgence of that type of weakness, and all our empires would collapse.”

    Summary

After rescuing and reviving Apophis, Ba'al just wants to have a sincere conversation with him. Or does he?
    - - -
“I know,” says Ba’al, in a tone of voice that’s just a little too irreverent. “I was one of the first. There was a great deal of territorial squabbling, of course, but our system does reward ruthlessness. It’s rather like the Tau’ri game of Monopoly, once you think about it--”

Apophis has absolutely no desire to hear about the Tau’ri right now. He attempts to seize control of the conversation again, aiming a hostile stare at Ba’al. “I should be compensated for putting up with you.”

“Ah, there you go again! Speaking your mind around me without fear of immediate consequences. I knew you had it in you.”

    Summary

With Ba'al in captivity at the SGC after killing off Anubis, SG-1 tries to extract answers from him and Rush. Ba'al treats it more like an interview than an interrogation. The headache is barely worth it.
    - - -
“But what did the serum do to you?”

“Uh,” says Ba’al, uncharacteristically tongue-tied, floundering for a satisfactory answer. He can just picture what they’d all say if he confessed the serum made him loyal to Rush, of all people. “Nothing, except making me very sick.” He keeps going, although he shouldn’t. “I already planned to assassinate Anubis. I don’t believe any amount of chemical-induced behavior changes could’ve reduced my desire to kill that man.”

“We’ve all been there,” mutters Rush.

    Summary

It's hard to believe, but Rush and Ba'al somehow made it back to Earth after eliminating Anubis, alive and intact and in their original bodies. But when Rush uncharacteristically decides to be responsible, and checks in with the SGC, he realizes their problems have only just begun. Ft: Jack and Vala.
    - - -
Ba’al can feel his core temperature dropping, restoring some sense of sanity. To his slight dismay, he finds himself uttering the words most forbidden to the Goa’uld. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Rush pauses, hearing a faint static noise. Something’s not right. “What’s that?”

The noise gets louder. It’s coming from his pocket. In an overwhelming moment of realization and horror, Rush pulls out his phone. It’s been connected to the SGC switchboard this entire time.

On the other end of the receiver, a voice finally speaks. It’s a very specific voice, and undisputedly the worst possible person to accidentally overhear that entire conversation on speakerphone.

“Hey, fellas,” says Jack O’Neill. “Are you done?”

(More PWP for my boys, yay. Trans Rush again too, it's nice and spicy and validating so why not? Wasn't sure whether to post because there's zero plot, but decided to throw it on the pile. We can never have enough of Rush having a goddamn great time.)

    Summary

Ba'al believes Rush should learn self-defense, and teaches him how to use the infamous Goa'uld hand device. He's not prepared for his fierce instincts.
    - - -
“That’s the spirit,” says Ba’al, with a prideful smirk. And in the split second it takes him to lift his hand to fire off a blast, Rush has managed to counter and match it, neutralizing his force and barely exceeding it. Ba'al finds himself pushed off kilter ever so slightly, and adjusts his stance to catch his balance, spreading his arms in a come-hither gesture. “Try that again.”

Rush does as asked, attacking once more with the energy flowing through his body and concentrating in his hand, glowing bright, embodying all the rage and intensity cooped up in his powerful mind. He fires again, and keeps firing, again and again. Ba’al withstands it very capably, matching each attack with a defensive shield to cancel out the force, but if his focus were to slip for even a moment, he knows Rush could gain the upper hand. The thought scares and excites him in ways he won’t dare say out loud.

Rush will say it, though. “You love the idea that I could beat you,” he boasts, far too accurately.

    Summary

After committing some petty interstellar theft, Rush and Ba'al barely make their getaway, only to find themselves tracked down by an exceptionally annoying recurring enemy.
    - - -
“Just be patient, you’ll be fine,” says Ba’al, ignoring the thirty seconds until landing flashing warning message. With exceptional strength, he shoves the ancient head-grabber device onto the transport platform, along with the chunk of ancient wall, covered in dust and grime. It occupies the entire space, with no room left inside the circle. Well, that fucking figures.

Thinking quickly, Ba’al scoops Rush off the floor and takes a seat cross-legged on top of the ancient device, just barely fitting both of them inside the transport rings area. “Shame they don’t have insurance for these spaceships on Earth. It’s about to crash. Total loss, I fear. They’ll blame it on special effects gone wrong. Or maybe a movie marketing stunt?” He wonders out loud.
