“I, uh…” Zuko shifted in his seat. “Well…” He gestured vaguely, hands following the movement of his wrists. “Yes,” he settled on finally, averting his eyes. “I’ve met my soulmate.”
“What?” Sokka leaned forward interestedly, ignoring the soft ache behind his ribcage. “Is it that goth chick? Mel?”
“Mai,” Zuko snapped. “And...no, it’s not her.”
“Then who?” Suki asked. “Do we know her?”
“Yes—No. It doesn’t matter.”
“You don’t have to tell us, Zuko—” Katara started.
“Good!” Zuko said, standing up. “Because I don’t want to!”

Summary
It's a week into Zuko's banishment when his soulmate severs their connection. And just like he doesn't deserve to be home until he's regained his honor, he figures he doesn't deserve a soul connection, either. It's all part of the same lesson.
(Soulmate AU: When your soulmate experiences a powerful emotion, you can feel it too. At any time for any reason, though, you can sever this connection to your soulmate so neither of you feel it anymore. Only the partner who severed the connection is able to unsever it.)

Sokka is so sure that Zuko is being a sneaky, conniving jerkbender - he just had to catch him in the act! He really doesn’t expect for the guy to keep unveiling horrible childhood trauma every time Sokka steps in it, though, and it’s really starting to get awkward and concerning.

Summary
Zuko hasn't worried about that part of himself for so long; it was buried by the exile, buried by the war, buried by duty and responsibility.
Then, Sokka returns to the Fire Nation after time away at sea, and Zuko can't ignore that part of himself anymore. The boy he once fought at the South Pole has become a man, and Zuko's feelings can't be hidden much longer -- no matter what the laws of his country say.

Summary
“I’m going to go practice some firebending forms,” Zuko says stiffly, running a hand through the tangles in his hair. “Tell Aang to join me if he wants to once he wakes up.” Gold eyes dart up to where Aang had strung up a makeshift hammock and was still sleeping soundly, snoring like a buffalo yak.
“Alright,” Sokka says, watching as he walks out without another word, evidently having reverted back into his usual brooding self. “Have fun!” He calls after Zuko loudly, which he means to be sarcastic, but comes out painfully, embarrassingly sincere. His face burns, and as soon as Zuko passes out of sight into the the temple, Katara turns to him, leveling him with a Look.
“You like him.” She says, and it’s not a question.

“But you just said honor is about doing what’s right. You must have known that wasn’t right,” Sokka presses.
There’s a long moment of silence. Then, “I knew it didn’t feel right. But I always told myself that if I knew the first thing about honor, I would still be home.”
“I don’t understand."
“I didn’t, either,” Zuko sighs.

Of course Sokka has seen the scar. It’s kind of hard to miss.
…It just hadn’t occurred to him that it meant anything.

Summary
Prince Lance of Altea had always known that he wouldn't marry for love— in times of war, allies relied on political marriages. He allowed himself the reprieve of becoming a bit of a slut before the doomsday that would be his wedding day.
He had given himself rules when it came to hookups: enjoy his time, forget their name, and never see them again.
He's not sure why he hadn't forseen the consequences of letting the Blade member, Keithyr, break two of his rules. All he knows is that it will only end in hurting one or both of them.
