Perfectly characterized; wonderfully simple prose, big feelings. I love the world and setting and vibe of the warehouse this author managed to craft in such a short piece. And of course, this may be one of, if not my favorite Ocean. You know what, my favorite of every kid, for that matter. I keep on coming back to these fics. It's like soup for the soul.💖

Ricky wakes up first.
This is his favorite part of the day. When the sun and he are barely awake, sharing the room and slowly painting it with light.
He also loves watching Penny. She smiles in her sleep often, and he aches to know what she dreams of. That is, until she wakes up, because then her smile is a choice, and he knows it’s because of him.
Her eyes scan his face, blinking the sleep away slowly as she smiles. She brushes his curls back, and he softly runs his index finger down the center of her face, stopping at her nose with a small tap. Her smile widens. They explore each other’s features until she speaks.
“Good morning, Ricky.”
