His brain is full of flashing alarms and sirens, he doesn’t know anymore who picked this metaphor, or if they’re actually talking about pets. “I haven’t had a cat since Watergate,” Richie laughs. “If you can imagine. But uh, I can still remember the ropes. If you wanted to get a cat together, I’d even be happy to, ya know, take the little guy to get tested, if that was what you needed...”
“Oh God,” Eddie buries his face in his hands. Well, Richie’s definitely talking about what he’s talking about, at least.
