Izuku watches as Shouto walks in the direction of the bathroom on clumsy, still tired feet, taking a quick break in front of Kacchan to press a soft kiss right on his forehead before he continues his slow journey.
When the door closes behind him Izuku's gaze shifts to Kacchan who intently stares at his own feet to avoid eye contact at all costs before he decides to switch tactics and stares right at Izuku, daring him to say something.
Izuku is actually stunned into absolute silence.

Summary
Todoroki Touya dies in the early hours of the 12th of January.
He dies quietly, painlessly, in his sleep, surrounded by people he cared about once upon a time, by people that loved him until the bitter end. Touya leaves the world the same way he came into it, held in his mother’s arms and cradled with all the gentleness in the world.
Shouto thinks a small part of him dies that day too.
He doesn’t remember the funeral.
or: Touya finally succumbs to his injuries and Shouto struggles to handle what comes afterwards.

Summary
Shouto adjusts his body temperature and looks around, frowning when he realizes he has no idea which car—or person—he’s supposed to be looking for. Shouto takes two steps toward the street and freezes when he sees who’s waiting for him. His heart stops; his breath catches in his throat; the whole world stops spinning.
Crimson eyes watch him. Scarlet red—the color he’d tried so hard to forget.
“Katsuki,” he whispers, and the smile that spreads across the blond’s face makes his world spin three times faster, his heart tumbling and flipping in his chest. Before he even realizes it, Shouto’s feet are already sprinting toward Katsuki, suitcase and backpack abandoned in favor of reaching him as fast as possible. Katsuki opens his arms, and Shouto doesn’t hesitate to crash into him, hugging him so tightly Katsuki grunts against his ear.
“Welcome home, princess,” Katsuki murmurs against his ear. Shouto buries himself deeper in his arms, pressing his face into Katsuki’s neck. God, he’d missed this.

Shouto returns to Japan after living in North America for nearly 3 years, finally ready to face everything he left behind. Katsuki welcomes him with open arms.

Bakugou turns off the alarm clock with an explosion, before it even gets through its second beep, and sits on the edge of the bed, staring at the pile of ashes on the floor as he waits to wake up. A habit he had since he was a child. God, he’d lost count of how many alarm clocks he had had to buy over the course of his life.
Before getting up he looks behind at the bed, where he usually slept, expecting to see him.
But he isn’t there.
Bakugou knew that he wouldn’t be there.
He gets up with a sigh and goes to the bathroom, while he thinks about all the moments he had of the time spent with him. He wonders when he really realized how he felt about him. About Shouto.
When did it all start?
Or maybe he had always known it, inside, but never admitted it until it was too late.

or Todoroki juggles growing feelings for Bakugou, the buried truth behind Touya's death, and a face from the past he never thought he'd see again. Some ghosts don't stay buried - and neither do emotions.

The words rattle around in Shouto’s mind: you’re mine. In one sense, it raises his hackles, Shouto much too proud and independent to be owned, especially by an alpha. In another, it stirs a warmth in Shouto’s chest. “Why? Why would you do such a thing?”
“Because it’s you.” Katsuki answers quickly and honestly. There is no hesitation. No room for doubt.

The noise on the other end grows denser. There are sounds of rustling, and of Todoroki grunting as he makes his way through the crowd.
Katsuki asks, "Is this something you gotta do?"
"Yeah."

Aizawa thinks killing Todoroki Shouto is their ticket to taking down the biggest clan in town, so Katsuki gets all nice and dolled up to do what he does best. It’ll be a piece of cake, just like every other hunt, and they might even make him a ranger for it.
There’s only one problem.
Katsuki can’t do it.
