Summary
“Last question, Astarion. Would you ever hurt a living thing?”
Astarion stares blankly ahead, “No. Of course not. Not unless they had it coming.”
“Astarion,” the man laughs, and slides his fingers on the glass and light. “In your present build: Would you harm a living thing?”
“No.”
“Good boy,” he smiles.
Some part of Astarion appreciates the words, even as his emotional subroutines are suppressed. He is a good boy, sometimes.

Summary
“Oh, goodness, my manners,” Gale starts, “I’m Gale Dekarios. You may have met my mother, or one of my aunts, or perhaps even my uncle. Or none of them, and they just have heard of you…” The elf tilts his head just a little. Gale continues, “At any rate. They heard you didn’t have any family coming to visit for Simril, and thought you ought to at least have something to eat.” Nevermind that it was a flimsy excuse to have Gale come talk to the most ethereal twunk in the world!
Astarion gives the foil-covered dish a skeptical look, and then gives Gale a considering look. He shrugs. “Come inside, then. You look pathetic.”
That, Gale thinks, is probably true.

Summary
This month of Marpenoth is always lively, in Waterdeep. Astarion has done his best to acclimate to all of it: to how much Gale loves the festivals and traditions, to how much their fluffy son Ran takes after Gale in this, having been born and raised here.
Waterdhavian boys, Astarion supposes, must be allowed their fun.

Summary
Tailing the man in purple for a moment, he almost loses track of him half a dozen times passing by about four shops on the market-bridge of Wyrm’s Crossing. Brown hair ducks into an alley, finally, and Astarion tucks in behind him. And gets a knife pressed to his throat against a stone wall.
Astarion raises his hands in surrender, “Now, now, let’s not be hasty.” Shocking Grasp is sparking beneath his skin, should the man make an untoward move. It should buy him enough time to flee, coppers a lost cause.
The rogue looks at him, searching for something, and then sighs. Some of the pressure of the dagger eases up. “I suppose you want your purse back.”
“Was it pathetic?” Astarion asks mildly. He knows that it was.

Summary
“Pink?” Shadowheart offers, “I don't understand this aversion to one of your favorite colors. Shouldn't they get to know the real you?”
Astarion considers the question a beat too long. What does that even mean, the real Astarion?
Is that the precocious creature clinging to her mother's skirts with a mop of ringlets down her back? Is that the honor roll student who pretended to be failing to have an excuse to flirt? Is that the fashion major with a minor in embroidery? Is that the girl who has always wanted to kiss a girl, but was always a magnet for boys?

Summary
“I shouldn’t have to tell you that my keeping a god as a pet is a rather extreme form of blasphemy, Astarion,” Gale jokes, but his heart isn’t quite in it.
“Not as a pet,” Astarion insists, “But… humor me. If you love me still, let me teach you how to keep me when the morning comes. Let me show you how to bind me.”

Summary
“I don’t really think there’s a true name for what I am,” Gale admits, looking sheepish, “But I have named it, myself. If that’s interesting to you.”
“Of course I’m interested, Gale, I’m here.” He’s asking.
“I… call it Portentus Castificare. An omen of punishment,” Gale says, eyes on his hands where they rest in his lap.
“Is it that bad?” Astarion cajoles, hoping to earn another smile somehow or other.
“It’s certainly… monstrous. And the hunger, when its yawning void opens within me, is… almost insatiable. And quite painful. This… this body, what you’ve come to recognize as me… it’s a facsimile of the man I was before, as best as I could recreate it. But I died that day, I think. It absorbed me just as I absorbed it,” Gale does smile, but it’s a sad one.

Summary
Even from far away, the elf was beautiful. Golden hair, long tanned ears, a pastel color palette to his clothes that Kravitz, frankly, was surprised to be into. He couldn’t measure the exact slope of the elf’s nose or the color of his eyes from here, but wow. He was gay.
Kravitz shook his head, he really didn’t have time to wonder about beautiful, sparkling elves. The sky was mostly grey out, but the whole group had had… the barest glimmer about them. Maybe they just hit the highlighter too hard, but honestly, Kravitz could get into it.

Summary
He clears his throat. "Excuse me, dove?" He calls, and he blinks a little at the term that came to his lips. Why on earth would he call this stranger such a thing? He shakes it off, continuing with, "Could I get your name? Not introducing yourself is just plain rude!"
And then, because Kravitz plays dirty, a ray of frost springs from the tip of his wand and towards the Reaper.
"It's Taako," the elf huffs, and turns, and his ears twitch down as he sees the spell heading for him.
Taako.
His chest feels full. His heart feels heavy.

Summary
"This is almost definitely business," Kravitz does chuckle, as he slices a hole into the air in front of them. "I mean, I've never had a bounty turn into anything fun, so maybe I'll be surprised."
There's a gap between Crystal Kingdom and Eleventh Hour. Getting from No More Mister Nice Death to a heart-to-heart over wine and pottery takes time — they just have to ease off of each other's throats, first.

Summary
“Are you staying the night?” Kravitz finally asked, after a moment of quiet and gentle eye contact, silence and unspoken feelings sitting in the space between their lips.
“Kind of got to, now that it’s dark,” Taako smiled, like that was anything to smile about. Like the danger in the dark didn’t scare Kravitz half to death. The thought of Taako coming to harm by it.
“I’ll take you home when the light’s out,” Kravitz agreed.

Summary
“So what’s the plan, love?” Kravitz rubbed a thumb across the shell of Taako’s ear, making him shiver. Kravitz probably didn’t realize what a fire he’d just lit.
“If I say ‘ravish me’-” Taako started, and then they both laughed. He smiled and leaned into Kravitz’s hand, arms still around Kravitz’s neck. “-If I say to do that, would you do it?”
“I’ll try anything once,” Kravitz winked, and Taako snorted.

Summary
Taako was home when the first pang of urgency struck Kravitz’s gut.
“I need to make a nest,” he explained, still pretty coherent, to a cooking Taako.
“You need to what now?” Taako asked, distracted by whatever he was seasoning. Kravitz left the room to start getting materials together.
“I’m making a nest,” he called from the hallway, “I’m nesting!”

Summary
“Mmn, toasty bird,” Taako mumbled, melting into the arms that came up to wrap around him. He felt a hand in his hair and leaned into it.
“Good morning to you, too,” Kravitz hummed, plucking the hair tie off of one of Taako’s braids. Last night, they’d spent an hour before bed with Taako purring into Kravitz’s thigh as he got his hair and ears played with.

Summary
They hadn’t spoken in years. And Kravitz had kind of wanted to for a while. Pretty much forever. But it was too late at this point, right?
Even with Barry being Kravitz’s best friend, and Barry dating Taako’s sister for over a decade… they just didn’t hang out together. Not like they had in high school.
It wasn’t a Thing.
