"What's this?"
"A surprise." Ed's grin is brighter than the sun gleaming in through the shop's large windows and yet again Roy finds his breath stolen.

Anyway. Fuck. That's not important. The point is that it's cold and wet and Ed really hopes he's actually going in the right direction. If he freezes in the middle of all this snow before he gets to see Roy again, he's going to find some way to set the Gate on fire.

Roy's been extra sappy and romantic and sweet all day and Ed's kinda freaking out about it. He doesn't know what's going on. Ed's birthday was earlier in the month and Roy's isn't until July. It's not their anniversary, that'll be in September—as long as things keep going well. He really hopes things keep going well. He doesn't think it's any other kind of anniversary or an important date, but he can't be one hundred percent sure. And he can't just ask Roy something like that because then he'll feel like even more of an asshole boyfriend for not remembering something important. So Ed's just going to have to hope Roy will say something about it on his own. Somehow. Oh, let's face it—Ed's screwed. He just hopes Roy will be able to forgive him for his forgetfulness.

When he looks back up at Mustang wondering why the bastard's gone all quiet, Ed finds him just… watching him. With something unreadable in his eyes. Then he just smiles again and takes a step back to gesture outward with his arm. "Shall we?"
