Kuroko's summer break wasn't exactly going as planned; after all, it wasn't just every day that she decided to investigate a series of strange attacks that had been happening around all of Academy City, only to find out that thousands of Mikoto's clones were created, and were being masacred in some sick experiment. But this information, as horrifying as it was, just made her want to help Onee-sama in any way she could... if that meant kidnapping the most powerful, genetically-engineered, esper in the city, then so be it.
This is a rewrite of Railgun S, in which Touma, Accelerator and magic don't exist, and Yuriko (kinda?) takes Accelerator's role in the story. A lot is changed, but of course some things remain the same.

When Sunday arrives on Aventurine's doorstep - looking a bit worse for wear after having made the trek from the depths of the Family Estate to the Reverie - he's reluctant to allow him inside.
And understandably so.
The gambler is still reeling from having just been restored as a Stoneheart, his shattered Cornerstone mended and heavy in his pocket. One could certainly understand the drawbacks to harboring a wanted fugitive as high-profile as that of the disgraced Oak Family Head after such a grueling day.
However, matters of the heart are - regrettably - as fickle as they are tedious. The pair soon find themselves in a delicate dance around what took place between them in that cold, dark cell two weeks prior as Sunday's stay only seems to lengthen indefinitely with each passing day. Tensions bubble, feelings bloom, and the pair come to realize two different things about themselves:
Sunday is pathetically easy to woo in the face of his recent defeat, and Aventurine comes to care far too quickly for things that are out of his reach.

Forced awake after so long dreaming, it’s so much worse than before, and he is no better than any fearful little charmony dove
Have you ever seen a dove try to build a nest? It’s so pathetic you just feel bad for the stupid thing.
(Sunday has a lot of problems and at this point he has no choice but to get rehabilitated by the humans around him like the neglected rescue bird he is)
