One chance meeting later, Hob petitions Time to send him back to try and change Dream’s fate. Betting on the immortal’s inevitable failure and being an absolute arse of a cosmic being, Time does send him back. A few thousand years too early.

Asa found the book when he was retiring. Bleak House, Dickens, a lovely old edition, tucked into a corner next to Asa’s desk. How curious, it must have been here even before Derek sold the shop to him fifteen years ago. He picked it up, admiring the lovely cloth-bound cover and faded gilt lettering. Why wasn’t this out with the stock – had he taken it in to price and forgotten about it?
Asa couldn’t look up from the pages. All blank, so very curious, because the paper seemed as genuinely old as the book. Maybe much older, somehow, than it ought to be. Except, someone had written on the first page.

They say the Supreme Archangel Aziraphale has changed beyond recognition. He's stern, authoritarian, and leads New Heaven with an iron fist. They say he keeps hellfire in a diamond jar on his desk, and threatens the angels who wouldn't obey him to unleash its destructive power.
Crowley doesn't want to care. He has spent 6000 years worrying for Aziraphale, and where has it got them? But when Shax tells him that New Heaven is looking for the Seal of Baraqiel to complete the Second Coming, the demon knows he can't hide anymore.
