Shiver's not sure what they're looking for in the desert. All they know is that it calls to them, a tug upon their hearts, a sense of rightness. They're not expecting recognition; if anything, they plan to keep to the fringes, scrounging for scraps under cover of darkness.

Poor, blissfully unaware Big Man, holding the TV, has nothing to go off of but these reactions- and the quiet, involuntary hiss of their camera staff. He must catch it reflected off of some surface, because it only takes a moment before he, too, is struck completely stiff.

He could’ve screamed, he almost did, the (thankfully) plastic water cup clattering to the floor as he clamped a hand over his ears to shield himself from the noise, as if that would somehow mute it for the other sleeping people in the house. Or, he supposed, the singular sleeper, as the other stood before him, half dead to the world.
Frye looked exhausted in the doorframe of their shared room, rubbing sleep from her eyes, clearly only recently awakened and eyeing him in concern.//
Shiver endures another sleepless night. This time, however, he has company.
