Summary
Sometimes destiny is nothing but a chance meeting in a dive in Iowa. It’s a wry smile, a bike ride, a spilled drink, it’s an encouraging word, it’s a sunrise above an endless corn field. Sometimes, destiny has you by the balls from the first second you come across it, and sometimes, on the rarest of occasions, destiny has a name.
In this case, it’s called Christopher Pike.

Summary
James T. Kirk is taking to life on Earth as an Admiral and Starfleet instructor harder than anyone, including Spock, would have expected.
A museum date to see what turns out to be some of Spock's childhood favorite 20th century modernist art pieces won't cure Jim's ills, but it'll make him feel better.
Featuring: James T. Kirk is Tony Hawke (you'll see what I mean), Intimate Vulcan Handholding (oh my!), the author being a classicist and imposing that on the star trek universe being technically post-apocalyptic, and the author falling down a rabbithole about 20th century modernist art.

Summary
Five times they stopped.
One time they didn’t.
Because in one moment Leonard is thinking about how he shouldn’t be thinking quite so in-depth about Jim, and how maybe he should be listening rather than fixated on the curve of Jim’s hips, but then the line is moving and Jim isn’t and well, Leonard’s drunk.
So he trips.
He trips, or well really it’s more of a stumble, and since Jim hasn’t moved the space between them disappears really fucking quick, and balance is a bit of an issue - again, because of the drinking - so reaching out for Jim makes sense.
Except one of Leonard’s hands ends up on the dip of that waist, while the other is somehow cupping Jim’s cheek but instead of jerking away or seeming even a little bit upset, well, Jim leans into it.

Leonard speaks first. "I have it on good authority that Christopher Pike doesn't have a partner."
"We were trying not to label it. Thought it would make it hurt less, when-" the man gestures to Pike, laying unconscious, irreparably damaged.
Set through Into Darkness, an alternate version where Ash Tyler is there to be thoroughly pissed by Khan's actions and to save Christopher Pike. In a manner of speaking.

Summary
Spock knows what humans say about him. His ears are too keen to miss the whispers. He has been referred to as Kirk’s pet. As his servant. As his bodyguard. As his shadow.
A relationship does not exist among humans that corresponds to what Spock is to Kirk. In Earth’s past, perhaps, it did, but it has been lost. He has read enough Earth literature to have found it in Lancelot and Arthur, Sam and Frodo, Olivier and Roland. But there is no name for it, no reference to search for. And when humans recognize it for what it is, there is this trace of disgust. Because it is unequal. Because they feel it is shameful to be in the position that Spock is.
It is the deeply held loyalty of one man toward another. It need not be returned; most often it is not, or not in the same way. Spock felt some of that for Pike. But what he feels for Kirk staggers him with its strength. It speaks deeply to an instinct within him which he cannot deny. Not that he chooses to protect Kirk. Not that he wants to follow him. That he must. That he will. That, in the second between danger and thought, his body moves on its own.

Summary
When Jim and Bones are thrown together on the shuttle, there's something at first sight. It takes longer for them to get past each other's defenses.
Jim couldn’t help but grind his hips against Bones at that, couldn’t hold back the sharp intake of breath that betrayed just how badly he wanted this. Still, it was Bones who’d had the long shift, Bones who was too tired to eat when he’d gotten home that night. “You’re the one who needs taking care of, though,” Jim protested feebly.
“Here’s a little secret about me,” Bones said, kissing his way down Jim’s neck. “My favorite way to relax? Taking care of someone else. Preferably,” he said, sucking at a bit of skin that Jim knew would just barely be covered by his cadet uniform, “someone who makes noises as pretty as that.”
Jim stopped trying to swallow the whine that was escaping him, letting Bones hear the effect he was having.
