Peter looks up and frowns. "I'm busy, nephew."
Shit. Stiles peeks over his shoulder and, sure enough, there's Derek Hale. Dark hair, pale eyes, stubble carefully sculpted and contoured. He looks older now, more solid, with a hint of grey at his temples. He's wearing a suit, like every other mobster werewolf in existence. Stiles stares, open-mouthed, for a moment before he realises that Derek is glaring at him. Mortified, he turns away, his heart banging against his rib cage.
"Ah, that's right," Peter says, lazily waving a hand. "You two are already acquainted."
That's not really how Stiles would put it, but he keeps his mouth shut. He stares down at his hands, feeling Derek's gaze boring holes through him.
"The Stilinski kid is here looking for work?" Derek asks, sounding almost disgusted. "He's going to be dancing here?"
"I feel like a broken record," Stiles snaps, twisting around to look at Derek again. "For the last time, all of my clothes are staying on. I'm not going to writhe around a stripper pole to entertain a bunch of wolves. But I can mix drinks and serve cocktails, okay? That's what I want to do."

There’s a tall figure standing just inside the doorway, covered head to toe in melting snow.
They are layered up so heavily that Derek wants to laugh for a second. Just for a second though, he wouldn’t want to encourage too much frivolity, save anyone not take him seriously enough.
He’s a pillar of the community, he has a reputation to uphold. He settles for one faintly amused raised eyebrow.
Deep, intelligent, golden brown eyes peek out from a tiny gap remaining in the person’s general facial area, from where a bright red scarf is wrapped up so high it’s covering their nose, and a garish yellow Pikachu bobble hat is pulled down right over their eyebrows.
They look completely and utterly ridiculous.
Also, deep, intelligent, golden brown eyes is an absolutely unnecessarily detailed way to describe a stranger’s features. Derek checks himself. He shakes his head. The exhaustion is making him delirious, clearly.

Stiles definitely starts off thinking it’s fucking hilarious that Derek-sourwolf-Hale does crosswords and cares about scuffs on his furniture.
But at a certain point, and he can’t pinpoint exactly when, “fully functional adult couple” somehow becomes a massive fetish of his. Derek in sweats and bare feet, nudging his glasses up his nose while he does the Sunday crossword? Unff. Derek filling out forms to get some renovations on his property approved? Oh God, yes. Derek putting away groceries and bitching that the corner store was out of the right type of Greek yogurt? Take me now, Stiles thinks, worrying at his lower lip with his teeth.
This can’t be normal.
