Summary
One of Alastor's rose red vests lay rumpled on the bed, the color striking against the cream colored sheets and the cool peach of Vincent's hand. He can see splotches that are darker (like blood, Vincent thinks hysterically) than the rest of the fabric and a hazy image of him crying into a red swath of fabric projects in his mind with all the subtlety of a migraine.
His head hurts, his heart hurts, his temples specifically hurt from the way he passed out with his glasses on. They sit skewed on his hooked nose, leaving the world looking like a hellish blurry mirage of itself. He doesn't know what to do- with himself, with his life, with anything.
Then the cathedral radio turns on.

It was alright.
If Hua Cheng's devotion was an ocean and Xie Lian was a cup then it was alright. Hua Cheng would carefully pour his briny water in, supporting endless life but being too salty to drink. Too dangerous. Too damaging. Too much.
He was made out of currents strong enough to carry away other lives and things with it, currents too harsh to safely swim in. The type of currents that come with warning signs, telling you to go away. The type that ensnared only the unluckiest and reckless of them all.
Hua Cheng looked down at where his arms were wrapped around Xie Lian's waist, hyperaware of how they were situated at the top of their marital bed. Xie Lian was resting on Hua Cheng's shoulder. His head was turned into the crook of his neck, His steady breathes fanned the side of His husband's neck. His body slumped and the rhythm of His breaths and sighs slowed. His weight was fully on Hua Cheng now that He had fallen asleep.
Hua Cheng's hands twitched.
