Goldie nonchalantly shrugged a shoulder. "Eh, what can I say? The old codger isn't getting any younger, and I'd rather grab some of that fortune while he's still around to spit at me for it. Makes it more fun."
Bradford hummed and nodded. His eyes slowly went to the trembling duckling beside her. He looked less upset and more intrigued. "You are... Llewellyn, correct?"
"Louie," he corrected, more out of habit than actual offense. Bradford nodded to show he understood.
"I'd wondered if you would find your way to me," he hummed thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. "When we spoke during that business with the RAMROD, you struck me as a lad with his head on straight. No love for adventuring, no interest in danger... it must be hard, living with Scrooge McDuck." Bradford straightened his back. It didn't really do much for his height, but the posture had the same effect as if he'd grown two inches. He looked strong now. Devious. "But I can't exactly trust either of you at drop of a hat, now, can I?"
Louie commits high-stakes crime with his Aunt Goldie and Della gets jelly.

Huey was good at this. He could be very gentle and comforting. The others needed a rock, right now, and that had to be him because there was no one else. He wasn't sure he could do this.
Dewey, Louie, and Webby would always be there to support him, but they were looking to him, now, like he a) knew what the hell to do next and b) was anything except what he actually was, which was a scared little boy with a sick mother who wanted to be by himself somewhere soft and dark to process everything that should not have been happening but was anyway.

Peter’s hand stilled on his fries, and he looked down, studying the paper wrapper on the dingy plastic tray. It occurred to him, then, just how true Happy’s words rang. Tony would show he cared in these grand gestures, in the things he’d build and plan and anticipate, but never in the simple words Peter thought would make it feel real. Growing up, May and Ben were polar opposites— they didn’t have the money or the materials for the grand gestures, but Peter had never doubted he’d been loved, in the simplest profession of words. Tony was… not like that, not in the slightest. It felt as though Peter were trying to read a different language entirely, attempting to parse the deeper meaning without even having a basic grasp on the vocabulary.
OR: Happy Hogan, serving as the in-between for a stubborn eccentric genius friend he's known for decades, and the recently acquired Spider-kid he's taken a begrudging fondness to; forcing them to reconcile their differences and talk to each other about their similarities, rather than stubbornly bottling everything up.
(AKA: helping them find a happy medium, if you will.)

“I swear to God, kid, if you survive this, I’m gonna throttle you,” Mr. Stark muttered, but Peter just chuckled, his eyes staring blankly down at his own body, half-buried in snow. It was like a cold, heavy blanket. He realized his shivers had stopped, and a sense of warmth surrounded him.
“Hey, Mr. Stark, what do you get when you cross a spider with a snowman?” he asked, his words coming out way too slow and quiet. He could hear the roar of Iron Man’s suit growing louder, closer.
“Frostbite!” Peter laughed, a painful, wheezing sound that made his ribs throb where the crowbar had hit him. He stared up at the snowflakes that were now sparkling with strange, pretty colors.
“Mr. Stark, I swear, the snow became rainbow-colored. It’s insane.”“Shit,” Mr. Stark muttered. “I’m 30 seconds away, keep talking, kid.”
“Ok… I got another one. What do you call a spider stabbed in its leg?”
“Peter—”
“That’s right, Mr. Stark!”
“You got stabbed, too?” Mr. Stark practically screeched. “How about you lead with that next time?”
Or Peter goes patrolling during a snowstorm and ends up with a stab wound and severe hypothermia.

The sound of the jet’s engine reaches him only moments before he feels the air shift, getting slightly colder. Tulip petals dance in the wind as the jet comes to a landing on the field. Safety.
At that moment, Peter can’t describe the feeling of relief that fills him as he sees the stairs fold out and touch down. Followed by pure dread, when it isn’t Happy to leave the plane, but a ghost. A real, fucking ghost.
“Mr. Stark?” Peter’s voice is barely above a whisper, as he takes a step backward. Almost tumbling over a stone as he does.
Peter wants to run. Wants to cry and flee. This wasn’t real, Mysterio had found him, maybe never even left him. Maybe he wasn’t in the Netherlands at all, and maybe the tulips weren’t real, or the holding cell, or the train. And Tony Stark was dead.

Peter would like to think that he’s gotten a good hold on his powers since he was bitten—he’s become confident and comfortable with them, and he’s definitely gotten a better understanding of them from when he first woke up with them. However, when one of his powers has been going haywire all day, he completely misses what it was warning him of until it’s too late.

Peter’s just in the wrong place at the wrong time. During the Academic Decathlon team’s practice, things start to get really shaky. Literally. He can’t save himself from this one.
