Summary
Guren had seen glimpses of more in battle, where cold calculation mars Shinya’s features in times of great distress and necessity. He has watched Shinya brush off civilian casualties, writing off lost lives as collateral damage, brutally torture, maim and unfeelingly kill without the barest sign of hesitation. He has also seen Shinya take blows meant for another, blow his own cover for the sake of others, summon his demon to use as a big fluffy couch, and ride to Guren’s aid in a silenced sports car with a slice of buttered toast in his mouth despite the sheer futility of his task.
The apocalypse is over and everyone mends. Guren and Shinya in particular endeavour to shed their masks.
