"You're really cold," Edd mumbles.
"Yeah, that's why I got closer," Tord replies. He fiddles awkwardly with his hands. His movements are a little clumsy, like he doesn't quite have a firm grasp on his motor skills.
Edd drapes an arm around him, pulling him even closer and adjusting the blanket he has on his lap to cover the both of them.
"Are you sure you want me this close?" Tord asks quietly. "I mean, I could still be a threat-"
"Nonsense," Edd interrupts him. "You've given me no reason to think so."
(or: edd locks himself and tord in during the events of zombeh attack 2, scared less of zombies and more of potential misunderstandings.)

Tord doesn't like to think about his feelings, but he's currently sitting on Edd's bed, drunk off his ass, and that's making it very difficult for him not to.
Especially when his dear British friend is a very affectionate drunk. Against his better judgment, Tord allows it.

"I dunno," James mumbles, looking away again. "It's a bit too big on me. And my wings look stupid with how dull they are. The boys in my class have cool colorful wings."

Summary
The night air is freezing, and an eerie silence hangs almost tauntingly as Quackity stands atop the balcony of the Las Nevadas needle, face to face with someone he holds very dear and who he knows is very upset with him.
He shivers a little, the frigid atmosphere offering little in the way of comfort as his thoughts race aimlessly. He draws his wings into himself, shielding him from the cold like a blanket.
The way Slime looks at him makes his heart physically ache. He wants nothing more than to go in and hug him close and cry that he's okay, he's alive, but he can't – he knows he's fucked up badly and he can't blame Slime for being cross with him. If the roles were reversed, he would be, too.

Summary
Tord's life in the big city isn't as thrilling as he thought it would be! Finding a job is hard enough as is, and struggling through his measly entry-level job just isn't his cup of coffee. Who wants to work on a boat their whole life? 20 days on, 12 days off. It's not lovely, but it's a reasonable balance until he gets the chance to get on his feet. Hopefully, someone will finally take his work seriously! His studies of biotechnology surely can't go completely to waste!
But years without your best friends is a depressing feat, and the 12 days he has home in England are lonely without someone there with him. Tord never knew living would make him feel so dead. He misses them more than he thought he would. Tom and Matt, Tord figured he'd move on from them easily, given the short time period of their connection. But Edd? He was never fully sure about him.
He's finally gathered the courage to text his best friend.

Edd stood on the street, as the late afternoon sun stretched long shadows across the cracked pavement. He shifted his weight nervously, a restless energy thrumming beneath his skin. Eight years. It had been eight years since Tord vanished, that had left this hole; a quiet absence that Edd had tried to full but never quite could.
But, now, he was coming back. A cryptic text, reading, "Coming home", had set off this coutdown in Edd's mind. Now, with the moment finally here, a strange mix of anticipation and apprehension tightened within his chest. Would Tord have changed too much? Could they ever recapture what they had lost over time? Had eight years created an unbridgeable gap between the two?
He tugged at the laces of his green hoodie nervously, his hair was a mess, as it stuck up in odd angles despite his attempts to smooth it down this morning. The weight and texture of his brown khakis almost felt comforting to him, against his legs, as he paced slightly, finding himself unable to stand completely still.

Tord comes back after 8 years and it brings up some old feelings for both Edd and Tord.
