When the sun is away, the vampires come out to play. Goro has been hunting Akira for a long time, but somewhere along the line it’s become less of an actual hunt and turned into a dance. One where Akira slips away just before Goro is able to capture him. There’s been banter, threats, flirts, and the tension is so thick it could be cut with a knife. But when a bigger threat has come into play Akira and Goro call a truce for the night to take down this threat together. What could possibly happen when they're allowed to get so close?

In the time they had spent together, he had known the beast that hid behind the Detective Prince's charm, but there was something magnetic about his spite that Akira found electric, so he flirted ever-closer to the storm that was Akechi Goro with eyes open and hand outstretched. Maybe, in the earlier days, he thought that he could endear himself to Akechi and avoid the murder plot, but the more he got to know him, the more impossible it seemed.
Now, things are different. They're in a world after Shido, and Akechi still breathes within Akira's reach.

“It’s fine,” Akira comments. He puts a hand on Goro’s shoulder. Goro, startled by the sudden physical touch, instantly snaps his head back to him. His eyes look at the hand on him, back to Akira’s face, and then seem to settle there. With all the charm he can summon from Joker without the aid of the Metaverse, he says, “What’s a few kisses between friends?”
Goro’s expression flattens out. There’s a flash of an unnamable something in his eyes, but it’s gone just as quick as it came. He gnaws on his bottom lip. “Is that,” he coughs a little into his hand, “something you do with your other friends often, then?”
He doesn’t look pleased at the thought, and it makes Akira want to laugh. “Do they press me against flat surfaces and kiss me out of the blue?” He shakes his head, a smile on his face, “I can’t say they do.”

Ren raised his eyes at that moment, totally catching Goro staring. He smiled.
“How’s that feel? Good?” He asked, more suggestively than Goro cared for given their current position.
Goro averted his eyes. “Yes, it’s fine. You’re just taking forever, that’s all.”
“Oh I am, am I?”
“Yes, you’re being too gentle. Stop fucking around and just-”
Goro was cut off by a sudden tightening around his ribcage, not enough to injure him, but enough to cause him to choke on his words. He sputtered, trying to catch his breath, and his eyes met Ren’s in the mirror. He held the corset laces in his hands, at the ready, as though threatening to do it again.
“Now, are you going to let me do my job?” Ren asked, his voice low and menacing, “Or am I gonna need to punish you for being a brat?”
