Summary
Sure, they've saved the world, but the best part of that really is that it doesn't end there and in a town where everyone thinks he murdered a girl, he's at least got Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley. It's really not his fault he accidentally starts living at Steve's house, he was invited, after all. There's a mystery too, about Barbara Holland and Steve's pool.
“Your boner is digging into me,” says Robin, and Steve snorts a tired sort of laugh.
“I don’t have a —”
“You do, I can feel it. Gross.”
“Okay, but it’s only a little one,” he says in a small voice which sounds like he’s impersonating someone.
“Are you ever going to let that go? I peed a little bit when the Russians got the torture devices out, okay?” She sounds amused, though.
Eddie jolts. “Russian torture devices?”
Robin carries on like she didn’t hear him but Steve catches his eye and he’s grinning. “How do you even have a boner dude? You were definitely having a nightmare I know your twitching means a nightmare… Did you have a boner over Vecna?”

It’s less of a kiss, and more of a slide of lips, wet with blood and tears but he feels Harrington’s grip tighten on the back of his shirt and he pulls back. He reaches up with the hand he can still feel and pushes back a strand of hair that had fallen in Steve’s face, smearing blood along his temple as he does.

In their defense, after they stop being stunned-silent, they start looking fucking angry. Dustin looks downright appalled.

Or: Steve Harrington isn’t just the best thing to happen to Eddie Munson. He’s kinda the best fucking thing, period. And the fact that he doesn’t seem to realize it, himself? Is a fucking tragedy.
So, yeah: Eddie sure as hell does make it his single-minded mission to ensure everyone around them makes a point to stop talking shit and let Steve know what he means; how much he is loved.
Because all of Eddie’s own—perfectly valid—biases about his absolute revelation of a boyfriend aside: it’s literally the least these dipshits can do.

Steve doesn’t hear what Robin says next. A date. He can see her mouth moving, but his brain is filled with a static hum. A date. He vaguely thinks she’s asking Eddie what he means. The tape in his hand creaks ominously, his grip tightening to the point of almost cracking the plastic case. He looks down and sets it back in the cart before Keith has another reason to fire him.
The fake smile he plasters on must be painful to look at because Robin winces. Everything coming out of Eddie’s mouth is making his head spin. This is giving him whiplash. He feels like they’re having this conversation underwater, like he hears the words but they’re incomprehensible.

When Jaskier wakes up, the light is uncommonly bright to his eyes, and he has to squint against it. He’s not sure he remembers going to sleep the previous night, and briefly accuses himself of gulping down the bottle of Toussainti wine he’d filched from the inn, leaving a few crowns in its place.He rubs his hands over his face, and realises that as he does so, the strange metallic scent that hangs in the air gets stronger. When he pulls his hands away to look at his palms, he stiffens. There are red stains on the skin, some of it dried and flaking in the creases.
It’s very definitely not wine.
