Summary

Not ACTUALLY writing a non-romantic Robert so much as Robert who is too fucking exhausted to do anything about, like, dating in Season 1? Something like that. The one-sided crushes go fucking HARD tho.

Summary
A small side-series to the other Dispatch 'canon' universe I'd been writing. In this universe, despite Robert's best efforts, he cannot convince Invisigal that she's a hero and she kills Shroud. Unfortunately, the combination of crash out, fixation on Mecha Man, and the unrequited crush on Robert kind of makes her... a bit of a fucking monster. Character-centric dark content about what it means if Vizi goes evil, but still loves the guy she tried to kill.

“Shhhh.” Occtis says, as if he can hear Julien’s thoughts. He sits on the edge of the bed, rolling up one of his shirt sleeves. “It’s all right. You’ll feel much better in a minute.” He raises his own wrist to his mouth, and Julien sees a glimpse of teeth that he could have sworn hadn’t been that sharp a moment ago before Occtis bites down. The blood that oozes from the bite mark when Occtis takes his wrist away is thick, looking black in the low light of the room’s single lantern. “Here you go,” he says softly, and then he’s pressing his wrist to Julien’s mouth.

Summary
Last she'd seen Julien, he'd been standing guard outside, unable to be persuaded that it wasn't necessary. Thaisha wasn't sure if it was because she was the one asking or if he just couldn't stand the idea of doing nothing.
Now, though, he was nowhere to be found. Thaisha frowned and did a quick loop before she went to the next most likely place for him to be.
The door to Aranessa's borrowed room was still half-open, and Thaisha peeked inside to find her not in bed, but sitting on the small couch on the other side of the room, eyes fixed on nothing in particular. Thaisha could see her only in profile, but she could tell that she hadn't slept.
Or: Thaisha gets a glimpse of Aranessa and Julien, in the wreckage of all they've lost, and starts to understand how little she understands him.
