“It will resolve.” Elros twirled the flower between his fingers. Like this it did not seem so bad, simply pale and pink. “You can give me a day in our room, can’t you? After he sees I am a man.”
Elros would not be deterred, Elrond saw, and so set about convincing himself instead. Elros needed him to believe. If outsiders thought them children, that was one thing. If Elrond thought them children, it might just be true.
The end of childhood is a rupture.

Matthias stood in the doorway and fixed him with a cool, unimpressed expression. “If this is an attempt to assassinate me with sickness, I think it is rather a poor one.”

Yuna is staring, she knows she is, but she doesn’t know how not to. She wonders if Shane knows Ilya thinks this way. She wonders what Shane thinks of him. She knows her son, knows that hockey is his world, but she finds herself wondering now if there is hockey and then there is hockey with Rozanov and if the second might be something different, something that has shifted his priorities in the way it seems to have shifted Ilya’s. Could it be true? How would she know? Would Shane even know?

Summary
“Shizun,” a voice that isn’t strange or unfamiliar in the slightest calls to him, and Shen Qingqiu turns his head to find Luo Binghe looking at him with attentive concern. “Shizun, you’re finally awake! Does your head hurt?”
This immediate peppering of worried questions would be enough to clue Shen Qingqiu in that something has happened, but that isn’t necessary at all, actually - a single glance at Luo Binghe is enough to tell him that much. His little white lotus, his sweet young bun who should be no older than seventeen, has sprouted into a fully grown adult man! His shoulders broadened and his face clear of any last lingering remnants of childishness, he looks like a darkly handsome young man.

"I'm just attaching the cloth so that I can embroider it," she said, with her back turned to Nelyafinwë, pretending she didn't notice his interest in any specific way. "It's been some time since I used this thing... what was the last scene I embroidered?" The answer was not at all politic: it came to her that she had most recently embroidered the Sacking of Menegroth, with the last panel showing her grandson Tyelkormo and King Dior Eluchíl rather fancifully, with swords thrust into each other's breast. "Oh, I don't know," said Míriel instead, "But I do know, I embroidered your birth instead of weaving it! I hadn't – been here very long," she said by accident, and broke off for long moments before she could resume. "—That was one of the first hangings I embroidered for Lady Vairë instead of weaving," she said. "No bloody details, of course – that would be insensitive to your lady mother – but the first royal grandson, and your naming, and your hair!"
Vividly Míriel recalled the vision in the palantír. It had included all the things she had just said, but more than them, she remembered Lady Nerdanel's joy, and the way she had reached for her husband, Míriel's son, to share in it and to take comfort from him in the pain of childbirth. She remembered Fëanáro, who had plainly been worried to the point of illness for months, and his pleasure in holding his son for the first time, and Lady Nerdanel's absolute trust in handing Nelyafinwë to him. Míriel had remembered these things because, while she knew them to be usual, she had not had them in Aman. She had let go of the palantír and fallen to the floor to lie on its rugs, and wept.
Nelyafinwë's spirit shifted, and for the first time he spoke to Míriel, not only seeing her but addressing her as she had addressed him, his mind focused enough to reach out. He said, I always hated my hair.

After the Boston loss, Rozanov invites some of the Boston players and the Centaurs players to the bar down the street from the rink. Rozanov buys the first round, in high spirits even after their loss.
That’s one of the things Joe didn’t expect from Rozanov: he doesn’t seem to get angry after their losses the way Erickson always did. They lose a game and he gives a little pep talk about what they need to focus on for next game, then moves on. No shouting, no finger-pointing, no bitching and moaning about their terrible team. He’s not sure if Rozanov has always been that kind of Captain, but Joe thinks that he might have been.

At least Rozanov is drinking this one more slowly. Savoring it. Or at least letting himself breathe between sips. He’s staring down at the table, eyes dark and red-rimmed in the dim bar light, tongue playing at his downturned, chapped lips.
Cliff watches as Rozanov thumbs across a name carved deep into the table.
Even upside down, the name JANE is easy to read from under Rozanov’s touch.
Ah, Cliff thinks. Fucking obviously. He should’ve seen it before.
