He paused to kiss Annatar, who took the task over. They had other toys, but this one was explicitly an extension of Annatar. The thought made him feel odd.

Celebrían woke up.
Annatar was pacing. He imagined his imaginary body now in robes of fine silk, not another slit-skirted and sleeveless tabard, but fashioned as though meeting diplomatic guests on Celebrimbor’s arm. In fact the imaginary earrings were precisely as a pair Celebrimbor himself had made for Annatar, which Celebrían thought was in fairly poor taste, all things considered. Not that Annatar was likely to care.
