Pax was smiling. In all of these- all of the pages and pages of D-16’s art- his smile, his bright blue optics, reigned over every piece. Staring, watching, smiling at Megatron. He raised a servo to cover his mouth, as the lights of his own red optics dimmed in agony. In grief.
A long time ago, D-16 had figured that, when Orion Pax died, he'd die by D-16's side, and he'd die smiling at him.
Now, Megatron knew such dreams had always been foolish.

In the background, all can hear the audible hum of the Omega Lock, its light flashing from behind and illuminating you and Megatron in a terrifying glow. Even as your Earth crumbles, succumbing to the terraforming and creeping ever closer to the settlement, you pay no mind. Your eyes are entirely fixed on Megatron while he grins with psychotic delight.
Optimus can only bow his head in disgrace, now knowing for certain that he was undeserving of being a Prime.

He isn't sure how to react- not that comforting isn't his forte, no, it's just that no one has ever tried to come to him for such a thing. It's the inexperience that makes him unsure as he rests a servo on your shoulder, listening to you cry your heart out whilst Laserbeak close to your chest.
Maybe he isn't meant to be around creatures as delicate as humans, after all.

Instead, they reflected an emotion he never understood, one the pits of Kaon had denied him so long ago. How strange are humans, he thought, watching the way constellations seem to form around your lashes, how very strange indeed.
