Summary
Considering these facts, the logical conclusion is as follows: John Watson intended to move out of 221B Baker Street. This, of course, was completely unacceptable. John had proved a more than satisfactory flatmate, it wouldn't do to lose him now. Sherlock had grown rather fond of him. Thankfully, John had provided him with more information than he usually got in situations like these due to his constant complaining. A month was, admittedly, a rather short time for the changes John would require to stay, but Sherlock believed he could get over some of his less conventonal habits in that time. This should, hopefully, be enough for John to at least consider staying to see if the changes would stick. And Sherlock intended to make sure they would, if it meant John stayed.

Summary
Sherlock hadn't explained much about Moriarty, but it was clear he had a very extensive network. It wasn't illogical to assume he'd given some of his men orders in the event he didn't return. Slowly, hesitantly, he crept towards the edge of the mattress. He felt a bit ridiculous, like a child checking for monsters under the bed, but this had been possibly the worst day of his life, and he just wanted it all to be over with. He moved the last few inches and peeked under the bed.
"I have found my sock." His dead best friend informed him from under the bed. "I told you you had it, Watson."
John did the only logical thing he could do in that situation and promptly fell off his bed.

He didn't even have time to proces what was going on (or properly cherish the moment) before Jean pulled away like she'd been burned. Though that wasn't a very fitting metaphor, he supposed.
"Christ, it's like trying to hold a bag of ice cubes!" She laughed, shivering. Bobby sincerely hoped his laughter didn't actually sound as hollow as it did to his own ears.

Summary
Bobby Drake was another matter entirely. Not only was he a completely average, human-looking teenager (when he wasn't completely covered in ice), but he also seemed to be very weirded out by anyone who didn't look like a completely average, human-looking teenager. At first, it didn't bother him much. It's just that after the Professor introduced him to the others, they all kept doing this thing where they liked to pretend they weren't staring at him whilst very obviously staring at him.
His wings shifted for the fourth time in ten minutes, which did not make the staring any better. It was a constant cycle: the staring made him so uncomfortable he couldn't sit still, him constantly shifting wings made the others stare more, and so forth. He stared longingly at the classroom's windows again, trying to ignore the burning stares on his back.
