Summary
Four months out from Noct’s twentieth birthday and the crown is concerned. A Monarch cannot rule without adequate support and Prince Noctis is reluctant to accept it from anyone else. Ignis has an idea how to fix it, but he’s not sure Noct will ever forgive him.
“You can’t force me to like a stranger, Ignis,” Noct seethes, “You can’t just add them to my retinue like that.”
“If you liked them they wouldn’t be a stranger anymore,” Ignis says as patiently as he can. Ignis tries to reach for his hand but he jerks it away and when Gladio reaches for his shoulder Noct wheels his chair back so he’s out of reach.
“You need more than just us,” Gladio tells him.
“I don’t,” Noct responds.
Ignis sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose, “Regardless. They’ll be here tomorrow.”
“Good for them,” Noct spits and he turns his wheelchair around and takes himself out of the room.Alternatively: Noctis refuses to make any other friends, so Ignis designs an online personality test to find him one. Prompto's score? 92/100.

Ignis pulls a whistling kettle off of the stove. Noctis twitches at his side, a threadbare sock tickling his thigh under a heavy knit blanket. Gladio must be nearby, too; Prompto can hear the deep rumble of his voice, sending a shiver down his spine unbidden.
Maybe there’s no one here at all.
He’s lying still enough to be dead, he thinks.
At least he can hardly feel the cold anymore.Prompto can take care of himself. He's mastered the art of it in the years he's spent on his own, carefully weaving a delicate veil of explanations for the prince and his entourage.
He can juggle his classes, his work, and the endless piles of bills in the entryway. He can get by on the meager scraps left for groceries when rent is due.
At least until a frozen pipe and an ever observant advisor make it impossible to keep up the farce.

Through a mishap with a hiraishin seal, Tobirama finds himself during Naruto's time and he is having none of this nonsense. His brother may be gone, but he won't stand to have Hashirama's dream trampled so.
And if he has to cause a civil war or burn the village down to the ground? Well that depends on how much resistance he meets.
All Tobirama does know for certain is that no child will suffer underneath the protection of Konoha and if he has to take them in and care for them himself, then he will.
