"I saw you match. You fought very well. Congrats on the win," he says, and Hyuntak nods slowly. He feels flattered but refuses to show it on his face.
"Thank you," Hyuntak responds.
The man takes a sip of his drink, and Hyuntak subconsciously follows the motion. "I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Geum Seongje. I'm the owner of a gym. Have you heard the name of Venus Gym?"
Hyuntak stiffens. "I… have."
"I can cut to the chase then. I want to sponsor you," the man — Seongje — says. "Appoint you a trainer from my gym, get you ready, and make your debut. What do you think?"
"What's the catch?" he asks.
Seongje stares at him for a second before chuckling, but soon the chuckle turns into a full laugh that has him throwing his head back slightly. Once he calms, he huffs, "Smart boy."
Mutual benefit – that's what their relationship starts as. It just doesn't stay that way.

Summary
Not everyone meets their soulmate at the age of fourteen. Though "meeting" is grossly overstating the situation, considering Minjae only sees him through the TV screen.
But the connection is there, and it's real. Minjae doesn't know how to explain it, but he feels the name engraved in dark ink tingle the moment he hears the person introduce himself — says the name — on the screen, and that can't be anything other than the confirmation that Lee Junyoung is his soulmate.

Minjae realises the harsh truth a little too late, that just because he realised who his soulmate is early in his life doesn't mean they'll meet any sooner than what fate has in store for them.

Summary
What angers Hyuntak the most about the situation is that he didn't see it coming. Of course, after the Union disbands, another gang comes rushing in to fill the empty spot left by it. It's all power play, after all. Baekjin was the strongest, and that's why he stood over all those other little gangs.
Now that he's gone, the second best gets the top spot.
It's an exhausting ordeal.
