He had noticed Steve, the first day the omega came to the reef and was whistling and clicking at him nonstop. It was infuriating because the longer Steve stayed here, the more he wanted to go and „come check out this den, pretty tail,” and “hey, don’t be shy ,sweet thing“.

Summary
On Dabi's reef there are strict rules. The hunters are the only ones allowed to fish, the useful are the ones who are allowed to eat, the broken must make themselves smaller, and no one is to visit the far reef. Dabi was born broken, and it was made clear that he would never amount to anything at all by the time he was twelve. So he has tried to make himself small the way he's supposed to.
It's easier to do when he's been sneaking off to a little island every day for ten years. He's comfortable on that island until a new Folk starts to visit it. A large strangely colored octopus that indicates he is from the far reef. Who readily, when asked, conveys in his foreign tongue that, yes, he does partake in the flesh of other merfolk.
Dabi is certain his home away from home is lost to him forever. But Shigaraki doesn't bite at him. He seems to want to show Dabi things that he has never been allowed to learn, and as they grow closer and the world around him gets bigger, Dabi is left struggling to understand why so many secrets are being kept from his people.
