“No way I’m kissing that jackass!” Hal crumples up the script, scoffing as he shoots a glare towards Bruce. “Look, I signed up for this before I knew what he was like.” He turns towards Oliver, the director, but most importantly, one of his best friends. “C’mon, Ol, don’t make me do this, man.”
“Hal, you dick, you can’t pull out on this now! This is the whole emotional crux of the movie— the tension, the fighting, the misunderstandings— this kiss is supposed to be them overcoming it.”
“Can’t an ‘I love you,’ and a hug suffice?” Hal groans, knowing full well it won’t. He’s complaining for the sake of complaining now.
Oliver’s blonde bushy-browed glare is answer enough. The last thing this movie needs is a queerbaiting allegation.“Be professional, Jordan,” Bruce saunters over, his arms crossed, looking unfairly good in his character’s black turtleneck and grey dress slacks. “The sooner we get the job done well, the sooner we can say goodbye.”

Looking down, Bruce found a little boy staring up at him with big blue eyes. Rain weighed down his dark hair and dripped onto the shoulders of his unbuttoned yellow rain jacket, the t-shirt underneath quickly becoming soaked. On his feet were the smallest pair of green galoshes Bruce had ever seen.
“Batman,” the boy said with wonder, clutching at the edge of his cape. “You’re really Batman.”
“…I am.”
The little boy held up his hands in the universal gesture for up. Glancing around, Bruce expected to find an adult not far behind, but he couldn’t see any parent-shaped figures nearby as actors ducked under umbrellas, camera crew reset their equipment, and PAs scrambled around the makeshift set.
“Up,” the boy said, stretching up onto his tiptoes.
Bruce picked him up.
“I don’t see them,” the boy pouted. “I thought since you’re so tall I would see them from up here.”
“Your parents?”
“I was ‘posed to stay put, but I didn’t, and there’s a lot, a lot of tall people here.”
“Mm.”
“I know you are very busy fighting the bad guys,” the boy said seriously. “But you help people too, right?”
“Yes.” Bruce’s chest tightened. “We’ll find them."

Summary
Clark's daily life was...daily. To say the least, The Daily Planet was running smoothly, with the usual articles being published and Metropolis citizens being informed. There wasn't much change, which wasn't a bad thing. To Clark, change meant challenges, and arguably, he dealt with more of those than the average person. Yet, for some reason, he couldn't shake the constant feeling that there was something missing in his life.
On the other hand, Bruce’s life was nearing rock bottom. Never having to work for anything, the guy had grown into a “lazy prick”, as the media often described. Work was the last thing on his agenda, even with nothing else going on in his life. Bruce had given up on saving his career years ago, despite his manager's efforts of rebranding. But even with all hope lost, there could always be a chance for him to switch his life around.

There was a beat of silence, but Tim knew what was coming. He could feel it in the way Bruce's hand twitched under his own on his thigh, could see it in the way the angry fire in his eyes morphed into a different type of heat. Because Tim knew that Bruce had a type, had met them in person after Selina acted circles around Bruce on set or when Thalia had the entire Wayne Label in a chokehold as they negotiated transferring Jason's contract.
And that type was people who weren't scared to say no to him.

When Clark buys an antique typewriter from "Interdimensional Artifacts R' Us," he starts to notice that the reality of the film starts to bleed into real life. Will he be able to work with the worst person in human existence to fix this, or will reality as he knows it be swallowed whole?
