He fixes her with a serious glare, and the other boy huffs his annoyance before storming away, leaving just her and him standing near the centre of the courtyard. He's gone towards the creek and the orchard. Min-Ji turns back to the boy with hazel eyes, and pins him with a stare bright in confusion. She could laugh again, but her throat has gone dry and the air tastes bitter. "You're trapped- all three of us are- in a maze. Been out there." He nods at the wide gaps in the stone wall reaching for the sky. "Doors close at sunset, and weird sounds mean something lives in there." He divulges all this information, and Min-Ji doesn't quite process what she's hearing, doesn't quite believe it at all. Her hair itches the back of her sweat soaked neck.
"What's your name? He says, to her silence. She eyes him, gaze icy. His teary eyes are clear, determined, but still marked with the grief she feels herself. "I'm Newt." He mumbles, to her silence. She gives him a curt nod, sickness gushing in her veins.
