Summary
Crowley had been asexual his entire life. He knew this - not in a hesitant, uncertain way, but in the kind of very fucking obvious, matter-of-fact way, like how he knew that the sky is blue or that gravity pulled downward. The idea of sex didn’t disgust him; it simply held no appeal. It seemed... messy. Unnecessary. Possibly even a little boring. Too repetitive, too mundane, too grounded for his restless, overactive mind.
So why was Crowley suddenly dreaming of Aziraphale’s body?
It was a direct contradiction of what Crowley had always believed about himself. His so-called asexuality. His so-called heterosexuality. His identity. His peace.

Neither of them knew who had initiated it, but at one point, That same jacket Aziraphale's holy grip was on was now dispensed of and Aziraphale's waistcoat was being unbuttoned with trial and error as several curses spewed out of Crowley. Aziraphale leaned back, undoing the buttons with practiced ease, turning to set it down, smoothing out the wrinkles with a careful hand and then redirecting all of his attention to the demon who he loved with his entire being.
"I would've gotten it," protested Crowley.
"Yes, in six thousand years," chimed Aziraphale with a barely contained smug grin.

As he lays in bed, watching Aziraphale read in the candlelight, seemingly completely comfortable in bed next to him...
He struggles to see what about what they’ve just done could be symbolic in the slightest.

Concerned for the demon’s well-being, Aziraphale rushes to his side, only to find himself caught in a whirlwind of confessions, drunken declarations, and desires too long suppressed. What begins as a night of caring for a tipsy Crowley quickly turns into something far more intimate as Aziraphale decides to show the demon just how much he’s cherished.
But the morning after brings its own challenges—Crowley wakes up sore, mortified, and filled with hazy memories of the previous night. As he stumbles into the kitchen, he’s met with a calm and radiant Aziraphale making breakfast, leaving Crowley to confront his feelings and their new reality.

Aziraphale and Crowley were free. No longer at the mercies of Heaven and Hell, they retained their ranks and their power, but could move how and when…and with whom they pleased. That meant they were free to be together and to openly love one another.
After the second near-ending of the world and the threat it had posed to their relationship, Aziraphale and Crowley took advantage of their new found freedom. They learned that their millennia-long habit of hiding feelings had not served them well and they were committed to being more open and exploring this new aspect to their relationship.
That they had loved each other deeply since the beginning was undeniable. They had never named it despite the millions of ways they had shown it. They now freely shared “I love you,” the first having been a moment that felt like it could fracture time and space. They were finally - finally! - comfortable in their expression.
They were learning to be more comfortable in one another’s arms. Crowley’s desperate kiss was a bittersweet memory and a lesson on how they wanted to be with one another now that they were safe.
