Mike and Emma are not Ashlyn's parents in this book. They are characters invented by me. I didn't want to make monsters out of these two because I love them. However, they appear in the book, but in a different role.

You may be a little surprised by Ashlyn's behaviors and thoughts, which are sometimes like this, and once they are like that. However, I wanted to describe a person whose trauma has already messed up so much that this person does not know what to think, how to think. In this book, Ash is a terribly lost character and I wanted to reproduce it as much as possible.

Fic comes to an end, but it's not completed. I'm thinking this will be a 3000 word fic(?) But for now, I have abt 300 more words of this written. The end goal is Taylor and Aiden's conversation, but idk if I'll get there before school fucks me again.
Basically Taylor's POV after Aiden's death. The fic is omniscient, but told specifically from Taylor's POV.
Taylor felt the rumbling of the building as it came down, one arm braced against the table, the other wrapped around Ash, her eyes squeezed tightly shut. She felt the sudden shift between realms, the weight lifting off her arm. The teen's eyes opened to find them back in the living room, she looked around wildly, finding Aiden in a similar state as he'd been in the phantom realm, his eyes dark, he looked like a puppet with its strings cut.

‘And it’s not like it bothered her, it’s how it’s been since kindergarten. The talkative kids were the lead dancers that everyone wanted to be and adored - or envied, while the quiet ones were the backup dancers that people payed little mind to and forced to stand in the shadows of the stage. And it’s not like she hated being shunned from the spotlight as the audience watched the dance with hungry, judging eyes — she like it, and it helped take pressure off of her as she didn’t have to be perfect and likable - because no one ever watches the dancing shadows twice.
She knows damn well that Tyler and Taylor are the ones in the spotlight— the ones on stage— and Logan and Ben are the ones in the shadows. Aiden… she wasn’t sure where he store— he’s talkative, so that would make him in the spotlight, right? Apparently no. He doesn’t seem like he wants to be known by everyone, but that he wants to just be known.
It’s confusing, Ashlyn knows. It’s all practically- literally- just the school’s social hierarchy.’Or, What if they gang didn’t go into the house?
